if this is a windows pc, the drivers for the monitor will automatically install. If you notice the screen and icons are very large, you probably need to install display device drivers. For more info post your system make and model & I will try to help.

Set your computer resolution to 1280 x 1024 (native for this panel) then press the "AUTO" button on the monitor to have it do an automatic setup. That will fix the simple problems, if it is still out of adjustment after that then something may be set up incorrectly.

To use the external monitor with the laptop, you need to use the combination keys, Fn key and either F5,6, or 7 depends on your brand of laptop to select internal, external, both display. Also make sure the resoltion of the video card does not exceed the native resolution of your AMW-F176B.

jon_bailey, Some monitors do, and some monitors don't have that capability. If your unit has other types of baseband audio/video inputs and supports the old 525 line video signal it might work. Do you see any RCA type jacks on rear of monitor? RED, GREEN, BLUE for input of video with sync on blue? do you also see some inputs called H and V for the horizontal and verticle sync signals. most of the time the issues with these are bad capacitors. if you can solider, you can replace all of the electrolytic capacitors. Or any electronic repair shop can do it for you.

I have never owned one but when you list out monitors with the same specs Advueu always comes up as one of the least expensive.

Although there are exceptions, the lower price will almost always indicate a lack of quality. Given your experience it is safe to say that your monitor is no exception to this rule.

I have had excellent luck with the following LCD manufacturers: Samsung, LG, Dell, HP/Compaq, IBM, NEC and Mitsubishi.

IMHO: The best vendors are NewEgg.com, TigerDirect.com and the Dell Outlet. Online prices are way lower than store prices.
