Question about ViewSonic VX900 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Vx900 dispays for a second and goes blank.

What does the 100uf capacitor look like? Is it labled on the board or the capaciter itself. I have one guess. It is a tiny green module with solder pins at either end. About 3/8 of and inch in lenght. However it says f100 on the board.

Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

Blinking green light but no sound or anything just a blank screen. It its a puffed up capacitor, how do we fix it? Please help!

U have tools like a soldering iron, desoldering pump or desoldering braid, solders?U can u do basic soldering and understanding basic electronic?Yes.Check the tv power supply board for those dying capacitors that are bulges or puffing ups on it tops.Look for it printed lable for it Micro Ferit and voltages on those dying capacitors.Tries Radio Shack,Amazon.com or Ebay.com buy for those same exact capacitors to replaced it.Those printed voltages can up to 5 or 10 more volts, but not the Micro Ferit, must be exact to the old capacitor.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Toshiba 27a34 27in. I am getting white lines at top of screen. At first they would slowly disappear, but now they are staying.

Easy fix if you have a solder iron, solder, and a 100uF, 50v capacitor. This picture shows the capacitor (Green) after replacement. This symptom is called "Fold Over". Simply replace the shown capacitor with the same value and you will be all set. Project time < 30 minutes. -milkburp9e9db24.jpg
