well happy to help, i am sorry to say but the driver that ur using could be damaged and that is why u r getting error message. u could instal the driver from the site here is the link http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

you have to put the driver cd which come with the printer, then click on install then follow the instruction on the screen when it ask you to connet the printer then only connet it to pc,then rest you follow the instruction
