Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hi there, I have a faulty Plasma TV, Fujitsu Plasma Model PDS 4234W-S. It has a thin white vertical line about 1/3 of the way inset from the left hand side. I was wondering if you could please provide a rough estimate of what it would cost me to fix this. I understand this is difficult without seeing the TV first, but if you could please provide me with an idea of whether it is economical or not to fix this, that would be wonderful. Thanks :)

Well in my experience ZMarshall, repairing tv's typically cost about as much as a new one. Basically they will have to replace the entire screen, with parts and labor you could be looking at a grand.

We have a 50" Vizio plasma TV with a persistent blue, sometimes white, pair of vertical lines on the right side about 1/4 from the right edge.

if those problems were present when you got it back from repair, then, the guy didn't fix it fully.

if those are new problems - then you are now finding out why electronics and plasma displays wear out after ten years, replace the unit, don't pay to 'get it fixed' as the rest of the parts are old and about to also fail.

Multiple vertical white lines

hi,
As you mentioned its sounds like the X buffer (Right and left) of your tv is faulty. There are two boards in your tv for driving the X plane of the plasma panel. Normally you can find these board on the top or bottom portion of the TV. . Its part numbers are Right buffer board is 6870QSC107A 6871QRH073A and Left buffer board i EAX35683901 EBR35855501. Before purchasing the boards identify which board is faulty. That you can find easily. Check which portion of the screen have vertical line in right or left side of the panel. The board for that side is faulty.
You can find these boards on the following link.
