My son had his laptop in our computer room with our Lexmark1185 hooked up and printing. We are now using my wife's Dell laptop that is running Windows 7. I am having trouble loading the printer to this laptop. I do have the Lexmark X1100 Series cd, but I cannot load the printer. I need to know what to do in order to get this printer working.

Hi richardhaley,
Isee that you are having issues with your Canon MP610 printer.
You mentioned that your printer is connected to an Apple Time capsule via USB and that it works fin on your Macbook and on your sons Vista Laptop but prints the colored shifted to the right on your daughter's Vista and wife's XP Laptop and this is connected via USB.
If I may ask have you tried printing wireless using your daughters Vista Laptop and you wife's XP Laptop to see if the colors are still gonna shifted to the right.
Also you mentioned the drive that the driver you are using is from bonjour but still you have the same problem.
Here is a link where you can download drivers specific for the versions of windows your daughter's Vista and your wife's XP would have, you will need to select exactly the OS operating system for the driver that you need also there is a software for each Operating system as well maybe you can download that as well for both system for you to be able to recalibrate the printer from the 2 machines.
I hope that this will help.
Thank you for choosing Fixya,

try uninstalling your printer from both user accounts then make sure that when you reinstall your printer that you and your wife use the same port for the printer instead of having the printer switch from one port to another every time you or your wife uses the printer to avoid having the computer from detecting the printer in a different port each time it is used in a different account ^_^

Hello,
The printer drivers must be installed on each computer. If computer A runs XP, you must install driver for XP on computert A; If machine B runs Vista, then you must install printer drivers for Vista on machine B.

Hope it helps.

Trying to install router for wireless

If that's hooked to comcast you can only have one computer hooked up to it, and no modems as they block mac address. If you are a Comcast customer there is a workaround. Turn on your wife's wireless if she hasit, if not get her a wireless card USB is easiest. Turn on sharing on that wireless card and you will be able to access the internet through your wifes computer, and not run afoul of your Comcast agreement. Or request an upgrade to a wireless router from Comcast but your rent goes from $3.00 per month to $10.00!

hi klb19,
how far are you from the router? have you tried using your sons computer near your area? is your laptop wifi capable?

click start, run and type in "services.msc" without quotes
look for wireless zero configuration and see if the status is started,if not, right click on it and select start,

right click your wireless icon at the lower right corner of your desktop and select view wireless connections. did it work?

let me know if it works. :)
