Unplug the power adapter from the printer. The power adapter is the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Make sure the other end of the power cord is plugged in straight to the power outlet in the wall, bypass any surge device or power strip as it may cause power loss. If you check around the silver contacts on the power adapter, there should be a green LED light on. If not, that's the cause of the problem. If it's on, plug it back in the printer in the right position and properly secure it. If it won't power on automatically, press the power button. If problem persists, the printer itself is the problem. If these are the cases, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support to further investigate the problem.

Cant pass emissions,i need at least one of the not ready status to become ready status out of the oxygen senson, evaporative system, catalyst

drive it. I am betting you have recently "cleared" codes which also clears readiness monitors in an attempt to better control people cheating the system. After enough drive cycles are reached the monitors will pass if nothing is wrong and turn to ready. If the problem that the codes implicated where not fixed than the check engine light will again come back on and you will again fail your attempt to pass emissions.

Drive it for a week or so and see what happens.

Have you recently tried adding to or replacing the internal rem modules? If not they could have developed a fault. Try removing the and rebooting the printer see if that resolves the issue. I have also see this happen with a faulty daughter board which the ram plugs in to on a hp printer

When printing, lines are not evenly aligned. This is a recent problem as the printer has worked beautifully for years. Is there a way I can adjust this?

Try reset your printer by following this procedure to reset it,

1. Without turning the unit off, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Press and hold # and 6 keys.
3. While holding those keys plug the power cord back in.
4. Wait until the screen goes blank before you release those keys.
5. Follow on printer screen instructions.

Or

. Turn the printer power off.
2. Press and hold GO.
3. Turn the printer power back on and continue to hold GO until the Attention light turns on.
4. Release GO.
5. The device lights will begin cycling from front to rear. The cold-reset process will run until completion and the device will go to the ready state. This should fix the problem.

Error message 5C00 on screen, machine wont print or copy after cartridge fill, its a pixma mp 550 in spain looks like the 640.

Error 5c00 is classified as a purge unit error. The purge unit is a device in the printer that refreshes and cleans the ink cartridges. This error message occurs when the printer's purge unit is not able to complete its cycle fully.

Several issues can prevent the purge unit from cycling completely. Paper or debris may be caught in the purge unit or it may have become stuck out of place.

How to fix it:
1) Turn the printer on and open the cover.
2) When the carriage has moved to the center of the printer, disconnect the power by removing the power plug from the back.
3) You should now be able to slide the carriage gently to the left, which will give you access to the purge unit located on the right side of the printer.
4) Inspect the unit for any jammed debris or stuck pieces. Using a paper towel, gently move any jammed pieces back into place.

Woeked flawlessly for years but after replacing both cartidges all lights flash--put old cartidges back-- no help.

With the power off press and hold the cartridge cleaning button and the paper feed button. While holding the 2 buttons turn the power on. When the light for paper feed begins to flash let go of the buttons and immediately press and hold the cartridge cleaning button for at least 10 seconds. The unit will cycle then go to ready. The problem is that the counter for the waste ink cleaning pad has reached the limit.
