Apparently, 661MX will accept the P4 3.2 GHz. I have upgraded from 2.6 to 3.2 GHz. It runs but it restarts itself some times without any sign of warning. I have 2 memory sticks in it, a 1024MB PC3200 400MHz and a 512 MB PC2700 333MHz. What should I do to stabilize it? How do set my board FSB to 800 MHz (specification 800 MHz (overclock) / 533 MHz / 400 MHz)? Any help appreciate.

Can I put a 2gb DDR2 RAM (1x2GB) to my D915PCY motherboard?

No, you can't. The board accepts DDR2 RAM, but only up to 1GB modules. You can find all the information in the manual here.

Ax4per with 1.8GHz does not recognize new 2.8GHz processor. Socket 478. BIOS is current. Is it not plug and play?

Hi,

Does it POST and can you get into the BIOS? You need to set the FSB to 133MHz and the Ratio to 21x.

(I am assuming you did install the CPU correctly and installed the fan.)

If you can't get into the BIOS, you may need to reset it using JP14 on the motherboard.

Turn OFF power. Remove the AC power cord. Hold the power button in for 5 to 10 seconds. (This is done to discharge any capacitors.) JP14 normally is on Pins 1 and 2. Place the jumper on Pins 2 and 3 for approx. 10 seconds. Then place it back on pins 1 and 2. Connect the power cord and turn it on. This will set all the BIOS settiings to default and you should be able to set the FSB and Ratio.

Do you have a manual for the MB? you can get it from:

Replacement for INTEL Desktop board D865GLC

I've found an Asus P4SD i865GV online:
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=ASUS-P4SD-NOAGP-R&cat=MBB

It seems to have the same CPU socket, FSB and RAM types, and the chipset is almost the same model. I'd say this would work.

If you can't get that, just make sure to get a motherboard with the following qualities:

Front side bus (FSB): 800, 533, and 400 MHz
RAM type: Dual Channel DDR 400 MHz (PC3200), 333 MHz (PC2700), and 266 MHz (PC2100).
CPU socket: 478

I'm having intel 102ggc2 motherboard received as replacement board supports 800fsb i connected dual core, celeron processors of 800 fsb but it is not working

Hi..

Remember that when you are replacing the motherboard, it's batter that you know what is the socket of your motherboard, so that the processor is totally fit to the socket of your motherboard. I think the motherboard you have replace have different to the socket of your processor, that's why your PC will not work.

Good luck !!!

I have an Ms-7037 motherboard. I want to change

You cannot change the FSB to 800 , the board is made to take certain FSB's and processors are made with certain fsb speeds (Mainly 533mhz , 800mhz , 1066mhz etc)

These speeds cannot be changed . You have to buy a new processor and a new board to get the faster speed FSB !
