i have a 2610 and a after changing the displays background the phone turned itself off and now it refuses to switch back on,each time i try to use the phone the display will light up for around a second and simply turn off again.
i'v tried connecting the charger and i cant even see the charge bars on the display.
any advice would be appriciated.

Your display circuit is broken, even if the LCD-panel,
seems to be ok the display is damaged.
This is a very common problem in Nokia phones.
The only way to fix this is to change the display.
You need a T-6 Torx Skrewdriver to do the job.
