i haven't opened the back panel yet (top loading frigidaire FWX833AS1.)

before i open the back panel, I'd like to know how to clean the drain pump.
(the washing machine is full of water now, too.) eeeeek

thanks! i'd really like to solve this problem myself, even though i'm not known for appliance repair.

by the way...i can force the cycle to go to the final spin...but the water is still stuck in tub. all clues point to a clogged drain pump.

    thanks for any help!

my GE spacesaver washer won't drain. It gets through all the cycles, but at the end it emits a burning wire/electrical smell and won't drain. It is only 2 years old, HOA of course won't assume any repsonsibility- and I rtotally don't have the extra money for service. WHaT do you think is the problem? NEed you and your expertise!! Help!

If washer works OK until it reaches the rinse cycle and then stops ?? then what you need to do is open the front panel or back depending of the brand , check where the drain hose is connected , your gonna look at a small motor that pumps the water out , it could be clogged , have it clean and it should be
working normally . hope this solutions works for you.

GE WSXH208V1WW

Usually when you have a washer that will not drain, first check if the drain hose is kinked or too high above the washer (8 ft is the limit of the washer pump). Next check if there is a blockage in your drain (often a stand pipe) or if the air can't get into the stand pipe. The final thing to check is for foreign objects in the pump to drain hose area that block the drain. (This requires getting into the pump and disconnecting the hose. Keep a bucket ready to catch the water that will pour out of the washer.)

GE has the manuals for many of their appliances on their support site: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/literature/ . Enter the model number and click submit. The direct link to the manual for the WSXH208V1WW is http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90256.pdf .

I hope this helps.

My washer did fill, but won't spin or drain now and the door won't open

Hi tragz,

If it can't drain, it won't spin. There may be something preventing the pump from draining in the Pump filter. You will need to clean it.

Please follow my below Tip on how to do it:

ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER
