What is this game console? XBox 360?

    Your XBox is overheating, basically.

This video demonstrates the symptoms of the E74 error code. If you get
this error code, there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the
"ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable). In rarer cases
    it is the GPU.

First, try resetting the unit (unlikely to help, since the error happens when you first power on, but give it a try). Unplug all controllers, hard drives, memory cards, etc, and power it back on.

Next, you can try swapping the A/V cable and then the power cable, maybe with a friend or with a game shop that will loan you one.

Check the power supply to see that color led lights up when you turn
the console on. If it is red or orange it is an issue with the power
supply (either overheating or too much/too little power.) If you are
plugging the power supply into a cheap surge protector, then try instead plugging it directly
into the wall. If none of these suggestions work then you need to
contact Microsoft. If your unit is under warranty, they will repair or replace.

When turning on my xbox it says system error with E 74 in big letters at the bottom of the screen

Hello ray_gut21

This error is related to a hardware malfunction. As a general rule, this means that you'll have to take your console in for repair. You should have a 3 years warranty on the XBox, which covers the E74 error, otherwise you'll have to pay a fee. For more information, you'll have to contact Microsoft Xbox support directly.

Before doing so, there may be a way to avoid this. Can you tell me if there's a red light showing around the power button? If so, how many?

Hope to hear from you soon,

ajblaj

When i turn it on a black screen pops up and says system error. E 74

Ah, sounds like the typical hard drive controller failure they're known for. There's 2 things you can do, send it back to microsoft for service or remove the hard drive, go to Gamestop & buy a used xbox for about $130. Not much else.

One red light flashing bottom right , what is wrong .

A single flashing light can mean a hardware failure. Did you get an error code? EXX where XX is a number...like 74 for instance? Please, let me know, and try this.

Power off the system and unplug everything from it..controllers, memory cards, av connection, power cord, and hard drive. Also unplug power cord from socket and the short cord from the power brick. Then reattach everything making sure the connections are firm and power back on your system. If this did not resolve the problem.

Turned on xbox 360 got a black screen saying system error and E 74 at the bottom of the screen and theres 1 red light on bottom right of power button

E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.
