Question about SanDisk Sansa e200 MP3 Player

Unrecognized devise and black screen

My sansa e200 4GB mp3 player seems to be having a problem. My computer says that it didn't recognize the device and everytime I connect it to the USB, the screen says:"writing...connected." and then about 2 seconds later, it says:"disconnected." This starts all over again. Plus, somehow the screen turned lack and I thought it turned off but it didn't. I can't turn it back on I think it's broken. I tried everything but it still won't work. What is going on? Is my mp3 player broken? Is it the USB's problem?

    This is a refurb and I was able to use it for 10 minutes listening to the radio then when I went to go put music on it it didn't do anything so I unplugged and it took 3 minutes to say disconnected then it popped up saying something about there being too much HB or HB and to delete some music or something then the screen slowly faded out. I reset it many times and the screen still doesn't turn on but the blue wheel does. I can also plug the player w/ usb into the comp and it turns the wheel blue so I think its charging but other then that nothing else happens and my computer doesn't recognize the player when I plug it in either. I'm planning on sending it back to the guy I bought it from on Ebay. I was SO excited too! It looks like an awesome player I just wish it worked!!!

My sansa player turns on and freezes on the Refresh Database screen. The screen then fades and eventually turns black. My computer won't recognize the player either.


STEP 1 - Reset the device
1. Slide the Power switch up and hold it for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power switch once the device is powered down.
3. Turn the device back on.

STEP 2 - Download and install the Sansa Firmware Updater
this is for mac os version.

Usb is not recognizing sansa


try going to "my computer" on your desktop and it should show an unkown device thats plugged into one of your drives

My sansa mp3 player isn`t recognized by the computer


It may depend on your operating system, but there are known issues in vista. There is also a hotfix from microsoft. This is from the Sansa Website FAQs at http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_clip/faqs

My Sansa player is not recognized by my computer when I connect it.

The most common reason for this problem is not having the latest Windows Media Player installed, or having a Windows OS version that is not supported by the Sansa player.

The Sansa players support Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista and above. If your operating system version is supported by the Sansa player:

SOLUTION 1 – Download and install the latest Windows Media Player

SOLUTION 2 – If that didn’t help, and you are running Windows Vista, apply the following hotfix - KB940199

SOLUTION 3 – If that didn’t help, download and Install the MTP Porting Kit (click here)

SOLUTION 4 – If that didn’t help, try connecting the device to the PC using MSC mode

On the Clip: Go to Settings > USB mode & choose MSC

My Sansa Clip (4 GB) is not detected in pc but it get charged.


These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

I have a SanDisk Sansa Clip MP Player, and I cannot get my computer to recognize that the devise is plugged in to a USB Port. My battery is completly dead and im trying to recharge but it wont recognize...

Sansa e280 fatal failure - black screen, unrecognized by comp, won't restart..


1. turn sansa clip on
2. slide to "hold"
3. press and hold center button do NOT let go...
4. plug in the connector cable
5. wait until computer recognises Sansa device
6. let go of center button
7. drag n drop files and you are all set

if that doesnt work you will need to go to the sandisk website to update the firmware on your device..

Does not recognize


The dinging sound is the USB port telling Windows that a device is connected, and does not necessarily mean that Windows recognizes a device.

Are you using Windows Media Player 10 or higher?

MP3 not being recognized by computer


My opinion.
No one here seems to understand the question...unless it's just me.
Not being recognized by computer means you should not be able to disconnect the device safely. Am I right?
I cannot seem to disconnect the device safely, which means that the refresh database option will not display and do so!
Help?
