No you should not empty this bottle. It is designed to keep the excess toner inside itself and should be disposed of properly.
NOTE: To return the used Waste Toner Container for recycling, follow the instructions included with the new container. If the instructions or shipping label are not available, click on the [Recycling] link under the Product Resources section of this window for additional information. Follow this link for detailed instructions on how to replace the bottle once you have a new one onsite.http://www.support.xerox.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?St=161,E=0000000002703235792,K=5302,Sxi=14,Case=obj(1554)
Hope it helps!
Don't be conned out of your money by Konica or any salesmen. The waste bottle can easily be emptied. There is no sensor that 'gets tripped and can't be reset' this is bull*&%t. Just take the cartridge out. Go somewhere that you can dispose of the toner (make sure it's not windy !) then turn it to the 'locked' position. This opens the port, then just shake the thing back and forth for a few minutes. You can feel getting lighter. Then turn back to unlocked. Use a vacuum to remove toner from outside of cover, then a soft cloth or wipes to get it clean. Then put it back in.
i think the waste toner bottle is on right side, its on the lower level of right side of the machine there is four screws, unscrew them and empyt the bottle, but u have to clear the waste toner bottle mode after. if this machine the waste toner in the front cover, just open the front cover, left the green handle and pull the waste toner,.the empty it and put it back
The waste toner is in the front, open front cover and the white bottle in the middle is the waste toner cartridge. Remove the black screw, and empty or replace the cartridge.
There are 2 waste toner cartridges, be sure to empty these 2 cartridges . If you remove the waste toner in both cartridge it will automatically clear the error message.
You need to replace the waste toner bottle (packaged with a new toner cartridge) you can't just empty it. There is a photo sensor that "reads" through a window of the waste bottle. The sensor could be dirty. Clean the slits with a q-tip.
Emptied the waste toner cartridge. Left it out of the machine. Held the microswitch (located to the right of the optical sensors) in the "cartridge in" position with a paperclip. Printed one document. Inserted the waste toner cartridge. Error now gone!
