Hi everyone! I was just wondering if it's possible to have a 512MB RAM and a 1GB RAM in my laptop (Acer Aspire 3634WLMi) at the same time or if you have to have two of the same... Thanks for your help! :-)

The laptop support 2GB of ram. There are 2 banks for ram each supporting 1GB each.

Of course if you want to install 512MB in there you can although having matched memory is always a good thing. For example 2 sticks running at 400MHz (PC3200).

No. It is not necessary to have two of the same type, or capacity. But be careful not to overcome the amount specified in the manual.
Here is an extract: Acer Aspire 3634 Notebook Memory Maximum Memory 2GB Memory Slots 2 (2 banks of 1)
So you can put 2 banks as you specified.
