Question about Onkyo CS-V720 Shelf System

Onkyo CS-V720 crazy subtitle

Whenever I play a DVD, it automatically turns on subtitles that are different from the subtitles sometimes offered by the DVD. I'm not sure what is going on, I've tried the audio and subtitle functions, but they don't turn them off.

On my samsung dvd player how do i get my subtitles off automatic

You cannot defeat the auto subtitles permanently. Every time you turn on the player it will automatically enable subtitles even if you had disabled it the last time you used it. Can be irritating but the player has very good quality picture !! so you can forgive them of this.

I have a VBR334. Every time I play a dvd I get subtitles. I then have to turn it off. Is there a default to keep the subtitles off.

I can't get my VBR334 to keep subtitles ON. After I turn on subtitles, if I (a) pause playback, (b) hit the Next button or (c) Fast Forward, the subtitles go away. I have spent many cell minutes with Vizio and even got a replacement unit. Once I updated the firmware, the subtitles started breaking. Anyone else hit this problem?

Can't get rid of subtitles

Often the subtitles are a function of the TV. Check the menus on the TV and turn them off there. Sometimes merely muting and un-muting the TV is all it takes. Other times, you have to go into the settings.

Subtitle Problem: Onkyo TX-sr605

The only remote that will definitely turn the sat subtitles on/off is the sat remote. The other subtitle buttons on the other remotes refer to the DVD subtitles and the subtitles generated by the tuner in the tv. The subtitle option is greyed out on the tv because you are not on the tv tuner.
