My Amana refrigerator is not cooling either on freezer and refrigerator side. The coils below the fridge was very dirty (a lot of dust bunnies). I cleaned them with a vacuum and compressed air. I ran the defrost in the recommended fashion. The defrost cycle is automated and initiated by activating the fridge light 4 times in 8 seconds the defrost heater came on and a visual inspection did not show any frost with the exception of a small amount on what seemed to be a defrost thermostat a the top of the coils. All fans are operating but are not blowing cold air it is more cool'ish than cold. I have both temp control dials turned to the coolest setting. It may not matter but the compressor is hot to the touch.

Take a vaccum and clean the coils. If they have a lot of dust on them the fridge won't cool properly.

Hello,
Their are a couple things that could be causing that.

The conderser coils under the kickplate below the doors is clogged with dust. Remove the kickplate and check/clean using a refrigerator coil brush that could be purchased from your local hardware store (Lowe's HomeDepot Ace hardware)

The condenser fan motor behind the refrig., behind the lower service plate directly next to the compressor isn't running and needs to be replaced.

Check and see if the freezer coils are blocked with ice. If not you may have a refrigerant problem as you stated the coils were dirty. The new refrigerants when hot tend to clog the capillary tube which feeds the refrigerant to the evaporator (freezer coils)

Hello. These can freeze up inside where you cannot see it. Your unit may actually need defrosted or the defrost heater element could be out. These can freeze up inside where you cannot see it. Please try the following:

Empty the unit out and unplug it overnight, leaving open with a pan to collect any water runoff if possible. Ice may melt from inside the freezer panels (ice only visible if panels inside freezer pulled off too see coils).

Pull your fridge out from wall and vacuum off any dust-bunnies or clogging dust from the back of the fridge (not to say house is dirty, this happens to fridges eventually). Just make sure air can fully flow through any fridge cover vents. Try to run the fridge normally again.

If none of this helps and it acts up again the defroster bulb is probably out inside the freezer down below the coils. This is normal as they have to be replaced eventually. Since yours is partly working it may just need a normal defrost and vacuuming as shown above.
