  • cheshire-gal Jun 26, 2008

Said the toner was out, replaced it and now the paper light won't go off despite restarting it. I have looked it over and there is NO paper anywhere it shouldn't be. Please advise ASAP as this is the only printer I have at my art gallery and I REALLY need it.

Unplug it then plug it back in and check for anything in the device. Or leave it unplugged for a few hours and try again.

When I replaced the drum and toner the paper jams. their is a silver bar that doesn't locks in place. what should i do?

The silver bar is part of the drum assembly, if the holders are broken you need to return the defective drum. That part of the drum case can't be repaired.

Paper jammed in my 2070N printer & I don't know how to remove it

That machine doesn't have a release lever, you need to pull the paper out, as straight as possible trying not to tear it. There probably is a problem with your fuser, and it will need to be replaced. Even getting the paper out, it will probably jam again on the next print.

Brother HL 5250 red light flashing

I found this solution on the web-- Hope it helps.

The HL-2070N gets stuck in a toner end-of-life error condition. Perform the following to clear :
With paper loaded, new toner in,

Open front door
Turn off printer
While holding down the GO button, turn printer back on
When all four LEDs light up release GO button. All LEDs will turn off
Press the GO button 2 times. The 3 LEDs (toner, drum, paper) will light up solid
Press the GO button 5 times
Paper light will be blinking
At this point the toner end-of-life condition has been reset. Close front door.
BTW, I got this from Brother Support. Also, just a reminder, timing is important here so don't pause between button presses.

Replaced printer drum but still printing with vertical lines

Hi dermtex,
since the faint lines are vertical, I think there is some thing distored the laser beam, try clean the lenses of the laser unit by clean soft cloth.

Printer drum light on

Have you already replaced the drum? If you have not replaced the drum that may be why you are getting smudges. If you have already replaced the drum, here is the reset procedure. The Drum LED blinks if the drum unit is near the end of its life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one. The Drum LED continues to blink if the drum counter was not reset when you replaced the drum. To reset the drum follow the instructions below: Open the front cover of the printer. Press and hold down Go button for about 4 seconds until al the LEDs light up. Once all 4 LEDs are lit, release the Go button. Close the front cover. CautionReset the drum counter only when you replaced the drum unit with a new one.Related Models HL-2030, HL-2030R, HL-2040, HL-2040R, HL-2070N, HL-2070NR http://www.tonerovernight.com
