What is the model of your television? In general, you could connect a red, yellow, white cable from the OUT of the cable box to the IN of the Tivo, and then a 2nd red/yellow/white cable from from the OUT of the Tivo to the IN of the TV - but this will depend a lot on the type of television. This hookup that I have described will not give you high definition, if you have an HD cable ro sat box, but it will work.

How do i connect my cable box to my tv

Connect the coaxial "Cable In" cable to the "Cable In" port on the back of your TV cable receiver box. Make sure your receiver box is not plugged in yet. 2 Take the TV audio/visual cable, and connect the red, blue and green ends to the corresponding color "Cable Out" ports on the back of your cable receiver.3 Take the other ends and plug them in to the red, blue and green ports under "V1" on the back of your TV.4 Take the audio cord with the red and white ends, and connect them to the corresponding color ports of "Audio Out" on the back of your cable receiver; then, connect the other ends to the corresponding color "Audio In" ports on the back of your TV.5 Turn on the power of your TV cable receiver box first. Allow it to run through the boot sequence. When you see the time appear on the front of the cable box, you may turn on the television and check your signal.

I have a toshiba rear projection tv 40inch model no 40pw13p, does anyone know how i connect the xbox 360 as i cant get any av channels up?

Hello:The xbox came with an audio and video cable, probably componet cables on one end, if you are going to use HDTV input which is the red/grn/blue cables on the end of you xbox plug them into the corresponding color in the back of the tv, also on your cable is a switch labeled HTDT and TV make sure the switch is in the HDTV mode if you are going to connect the componet cables if you are going to use regular video then make sure its in the other posistion. If you use componet cables you are going to use the red an white audio cables also a total of five cables should be connected to the TV. Some newer xboxs have hdmi output as well this is the better of the three connections as it also has audio and hd all on one cable. using your tv's remote switch the tv's input to the same input you connected your xbox to. HAPPY GAMING..

I have picture but no sound. We just had our surround sound system go out and are trying to run our tv on it's own internal speaker system. How do you hook it to our direct tv hd box

You need to use audio cables. Connect two red and white audio cables from the output on the HD box to the relative input at the back of TV (nr.4 in picture below). The best way to connect the HD box is by using component cables, that are the red-green and blue trio of cables, plus a white and red audio cables.

    Here what you need:

    Three plus two:
    Component Video Cable
    Audio Red / White Cable

    or single set of five:
Cables Unlimited - Video / audio cable

Once you have the five cables, connect them to the output at the back of the Direct TV box, and then connect the other end of the cable to either group of connectors 6, or to one of the columns in connector 7. Do connection with box and TV power off. After re-applying power use the source-input selector on remote to select the source from Direct TV box.

I JUST BOUGHt a ps3. I am trying to connect it to my tv through a converter box. I have it all connected, but it does not play on my tv screen. What can I do to make it play?

What do you mean converter box? RF converter? The video audio cables (R,W,Y) should be connected to the matching colors on the RF converter and the RF cable (standard cable)should be connected from the RF conv. where it say "to TV" to the TV and the TV should be set to either Ch3 o Ch4 (you can usually choose on the RF conv.) the cable from the cable provider should be connected to where it says "in from antenna or cable in on the RF conv.

Rca sound system hooked up to the tv the dvd pictures is black and white

    I see three possible problemos:

1: You are using a composite connection and your tv is downright crappy at displaying a composite feed--I know mine is. Try upgrading to component if your tv supports it. If not use a s-video connection.

2: You are using an s-video connection and there is some connection problem, either in the DVD player, the cable connectors, the cable itself, or the s-video input on your tv. Upgrade to component if your tv supports it, otherwise try the cable and DVD player out on another tv to see if the tv is the problem, or use the cable on a different DVD player to see if the cable is the problem.

3: You are using component input only two of the cables are loose OR you are only using the green-colored cable. Either plug in all three component cables (red, green, blue) or try pressing the cables in while watching to see if that fixes it. You may need a better cable, some of them are crappy at staying in.

    Can't connect cable tv

Easiest way is to connect the cable wire (75 Ohm) to your tuner's input.

Best way in terms of performance (if you have HDTV and both your cable tuner and TV have HDMI cables) is to connect the cable box using a HDMI cable it had both audio and video.

Next best is component cable out (Red, Green & Blue wires) to the TV's component inputs.

Next best in terms of performance is to use the RCA cables from the box Video out and Audio out right and left to the Audio Videio inputs of your TV..

You may also use S-Video and Audio cables.

After connecting it up, you need to select the correct input on your TV or projection TV.

    Hope this helps. :)

Scenium DLP quit recognizing cable signal

You may have inadvertently pressed some buttons on the remote to take it out of the mode to receive cable channels.
If you unplug the tv from the wall for a while, it may clear the error.

Step 1: Identifying Your TV’s Location
    1. If your country is highlighted, press OK on the remote control.
If your country isn’t highlighted, press the up or down arrow button on the
remote control to highlight your country and press OK.
    2. Use the number buttons and/or the arrows on your remote to enter your
zip code or postal code. Press OK when you’re fi nished.
Note: If your postal code contains letters, press the up and down arrow
buttons on your remote to enter letters, and press the right arrow button
to go to the next space. The left arrow button also moves the highlight to
    the left.
Step 2: Confi guring for Cable
The next series of screens asks you about your cable setup. To supply your TV
with the correct TV program listings, the TV Guide On Screen system needs to
know if your TV is connected to cable.
Note: If you’re using a cable box, always leave it on so you can receive
    program information.
    1. If your TV is connected to cable, highlight Yes and press OK.
If your TV isn’t connected to cable, highlight No and press OK. (STEP 3:
    Confi guring for Antenna
    appears–go to page 24).
    2. If you have a cable box connected to this TV, highlight Yes and press OK.
Note: The next series of screens is very important because the TV Guide
On Screen system must fi nd the correct cable box information in order
to receive the correct TV program listings.
If you don’t have a cable box connected to this TV, highlight No and
press OK (STEP 3: Confi guring for Antenna appears–go to page 24).
    3. Highlight the input where you connected your cable box to the TV, and
    press OK.
If you select Cable Input, continue to step 4.
If you select any other option, go to step 5 on the next page.
Important Note: Your cable box can’t be connected to ANTENNA
INPUT if it is to be controlled by the TV Guide On Screen system.

    try using the guidelines above.
