If foods, such as fruits and vegetables, in the
refrigerator are freezing, it can be caused by several things. First,
check the controls. They should be set at "C" and "5" or "5" and "5".
The proper fresh food temperature is between 38 and 42 degrees
Fahrenehit. The freezer should be between 0 and 8 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Priya darshan Apr 16, 2008

I believe this is Freezer on Top Model and not side be side. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Since the cold air coming into the fresh food section
originates in the freezer above, the rear of the top shelf will be the coldest spot in the fresh food area. Avoid
placing delicate items that freeze easily on the back half of this shelf. If food is freezing in the produce (fruits and vegetables) or meat pan, it may be that the temperature controls are not
set high enough. Since cold air naturally falls, the pans can get too cold if the refrigerator is not
running long enough to maintain good air circulation. Adjust both controls up one notch.

  • Priya darshan Apr 16, 2008

    Ok..
If food in the bottom of the
refrigerator is freezing, this could be caused by a refrigerator not
having enough food to absorb the cold air.
    If food in the door
is freezing, move the door bins up or down so they are one notch away
from freezer vents (Side by Side models only). The fresh food control should be at the normal
    setting of 5.

  • Priya darshan Apr 16, 2008

The problem is usually the damper door assembly
What usually happens is that the damper door cracks and gets stuck in
the wide open position. Look in there and see. If this is what’s
happened to yours, then you’ll need to replace the entire damper assembly.

  • Priya darshan Apr 16, 2008

First disconnect the power cord, wait for 10min and then proceed.

Under the controls at the ceiling of the refrigerator is a item call
the auto damper. It's located in the left rear top. Start removing
the covers at the top of the refrigerator until you gain access to this
control. Once you find it, tell me if the damper door is open.
Perhaps the lever that controls the damper door is just broken or the
damper door itself. It's mechanical in a sense as there are no
electric wires going to it. Air temp controls the opening and closing
    of the door.

Hi, my refrigerator Panasonic NR-B320T non stop running, both vegetable and freezer sections are GETTING FREEZED even though the temperature are set at 1 (cold not at 3, the coldest).

check your user hand book as most fridge settings work the lower the number the colder the setting
so 1 is around 1-3 degrees , 3 is 4-6 degrees, 4 is 7-10 degrees
it is the freezer that works 1 is minus 5 and 5 is minus 20 degrees
it would explain why everything is freezing up
it would also explain the non stop running as the fridge is battling to keep the low setting

Why is refrig so cold its freezing liquids

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS23KF7AB, is so cold that it is freezing liquids inside the refrigerator area. I also see that you have it set on the warmest setting. First, I suggest setting the controls to the factory setting. Secondly, reset your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. When power is restored, leave the setting on the factory setting, and give your refrigerator 24 hours to stabilize at the factory setting. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your refrigerator status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Fridge freezing everything

THIS REF. WORKS BEST WITH THE REF. SET ON 4 OR 5 AND THE FREEZER AT 2 1/2 OR 3. HAVING A HIGH FREEZER TEMPATURE CAN HAVE FREEZING IN THE BOTTOM DRAWER OF TH REF. MAINLY BECAUSE OF THE RETURN AIR VENT TO THE FREZER IS BEHIND THAT DRAWER.

Fridge temp is set on 1 and milk and eggs are still freezing.

This is a common problem and it has to do with the electronic temperature sensor. Check with Sears to see if there is either a recall or a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for your model. They may try to get you to buy a new circuit board, but the solution is actually the temp sensor itself. (www.searspartsdirect.com) will give you the scematic as well as the part number. Just enter your model and press enter.

Refrigerator freezes everything even on the lowest setting

Is everything really frozen or just the top shelf stuff? You may have a thermistor (temp sensor) problem if the compressor just runs and runs and runs all the time. Take a glass of water and place a thermometer in it for about 3 hours then take a temp. reading. That will let you know what the real temps are. See if you can cause the compressor to kick off and on by changing the temp settings (go to real low for about 5 minutes then back up to high). Let us know what happens.
