Wide blank area on Lead Edge, or Misregistration possibly accompanied by noise. The noise may be described as a clicking, buzzing noise while making copies. The noise may stop for short periods while making copies. Cause:
The registration Sol. pawl is not capturing the clutch to keep it from turning. This is caused by the Registration Sol. return spring being out of position, or when installing the Main Drive Assy., the pawl is "trapped" in the actuated position.

Check the condition of the front and rear Paper Tray Snubbers. Repair as required.

2-Check if paper is loaded properly in the Paper Tray.

3-Clean the Paper Feed and the Registration Rollers and the Single Sheet Bypass Transport Rollers with Film Remover and a lint-free cloth. Check the components for wear or damage. Replace as required. (Feed Roller PL 5.1 item 20, Lower Registration Roller PL 5.1 item 7, Bypass Roller. The XD100 Family of Machines have several Models that use a Single sheet Bypass Transport Roller (PL 5.2 Item 12).

4-Check the Registration Buckle adjustment 51-2.

5-Sheet Skew or E2 on 2nd side copy being run in duplex. The Duplex Drive Roller has developed deposits on the drive surface. Clean the deposits off the rollers.(Tip 134402)

6-Copy skewed on second side only. Uneven pressure on the door produced uneven pressure at the Registration Roller. Shim the lower frame for the lower latch .75 mm, using the shims from the Fuser Shim Kit 600K41560 and some super glue.(Tip 163880) This will tightened up the door.

I would make sure that the paper guides in the paper tray are tight against the paper. And make sure the adf guides are close togather so the paper will not go in crocked Good Luck.

First make sure you are not using "fit to page" as this feature does not work for legal size documents. To fix this problem we need to check several things. First, Press Copy, Load your document, press 1 for number of copies, press the up/down arrow until you get to "paper size" then choose legal (for 11x17). Press OK
It is also possible that your machine is set to reduce/enlarge size to less/more than 100%. If the first solution did not work start over, press copy, load document, enter 1 for number of copies, press up/down arrow to choose "enlarge/reduce" then use right/left arrows to choose 100% (again, do not choose 'fit to page') press OK. Once you have done this, you can set these as default if you like. Press Copy, press up/down arrow to choose new setting, press OK, press 1 to choose YES, press stop/exit.

Can't print multiple copies

On your Brother's drop- down menu, left click on PRINTING PREFERENCES . On the BASIC tab, choose the number of prints in the COPIES box, then left click on APPLY. If that does not work, go into PROPERTIES, left click on the SECURITY tab, and check that you have authorization to run multiple prints. Also, check your PRINT SPOOLING mode to make sure it is activated, and check authorizations in OFFICE 2007- it may be set to restrict multiple color pints.

Printing crooked from one drawer, and no option to print from another drawer

Try this spray on a little WD40 on the GLASS and wipe it off.
Yes, you heard me correctly, make sure you wipe it off leaving no residue, but it's still slippery.
the problem may be coming from the glass being too dry and the paper is getting stuckand shifting.
If the paper itself was going crooked it would get jammed or ripped. There is no room for the paper to go through the path crooked so the only way for it to copy crooked is somewhere in the optics.
try doing 1-2 on the glass itself and see if it copies crooked.
The envelope tray is a By-pass tray and can be used for any size paper. You can switch which tray it copies from on the panel tray button.

No Copies

It could possibly be your main charge assembly. If there is no charge on your drum, it can lead to blank copies.

Dark line when trying to make original copies.

The type of printer you have reads the image you want to copy by passing the paper in front of a image reader (it is like a wand with a light-slit on a side).

If someone passed in front of this reader a paper with something like dirt on it (or typing corrector not dry enough) some of that could stick ON the light-slit, so that the section covered with it cannot read any more the image you want to copy at that point!

Try to make a copy and look from above or aside where that light-wand is located, then try to clean it with a clean hanky. It could involve some technikal skills, maybe you have to loose some screws to get to it.

If dirt stick on it after this, try with some alcohol (no solvent please!). After cleaning the reader, copies should come out ok, please let me know.

Rate the solution please! Thx
