According to the spec sheet it is an HDTV.

The site link below has a spec sheet towards the bottom of the page:

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

replace the lamp on your TV, but only replace it with PHILLIPS brand. Anything other than that, will not last. We just replaced ours with Phillips and the picture is much brighter. It really shows the HD quality of the tv.

HOW TO AUTO PROGRAM FOR HD

Hi...The problem you are having is because the 52hm84 does NOT have an HD tuner. It is a cable or regular antenna TV. For HD you need a seperate source - eg: satellite HD or Cable HD provider.

No solution found on your site. My 62" Toshiba DLP makes an extremely loud chopping noise when on HD channels using a satelite service. (Happened on Dish and Suddenlink) No sound except for the chopping....

Have you contacted your satelite provider? Have you any other HD sources to try, A Playstation 3, a blue-ray disc player or even using the TV's terrestrial HD tuning system can tell you if its the TV or the Satelite.
