Try to reset the unit. Press the select button and the menu button at the same time for at least ten seconds.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

If you ipod will no longer turn on mostly it a battery issue

try this to tell for sure

-connect ipod to computer

- open itunes

- makes sure the hold button at the top is no in the on ( red ) position

- hold the menu and the center button at the same time for 2 minutes

- if the apple logo comes up then it should reboot and go back to the main menu

- if it dose not you need service / repair

My ipod has just stopped working, the battery is full, but nothing is happening when try to do any thing. My ipod classic just stopped working, won't turn on even though it has a charge.

Hi,
There are a couple of things it could be. But first try this.
Press and Hold the MENU and CENTER buttons until the ipod reboots. You will see the apple reappear and it will boot normally.

If it doesn't, here are a few things to check.
  • Plug the ipod in to an a/c wall plug and it should boot
  • have you played your ipod on a dock? that could have fried the motherboard and it needs to be repaired.
  • your battery could just be completely dead (very Common)
  • your hold switch is broken inside and stuck on hold.
If you need more answers comment back.

Mary

Switch the hold on and then off again and then hold the menu and select button at the same time until you see the apple logo.

This should reset the Ipod.

First thing to try is a reset

To reset your iPod:
  • 1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  • 2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
