This is the statistical order of the possible cause of an LCD screen going black:
The backplane lamps, and or the backplane power supply is also failing. Other caused can be from the main power supply, or the LCD panel matrix drivers, or the processor.
When you bring the TV in for service to the factory service rep, they will swap out the boards to zero in on the faulty board.
This type of set is mainly service by board swap, and factory re-alignment procedures when necessary.
