As tye45 stated the iron just stopped getting hot. The digital aspect is functional but the iron will not heat. UNplugged and replugged to no avail. What gives? I guess I will purchase a Rowenta.

My newly purchased iron will work "normally" for a few moments and then seem to "trip" and produce an audible alarm. In this state it stops heating. This happens regardless of what setting; how many times I plug or unplug; or how high the water level (below the max). I've not had the iron operate properly from the moment I purchased it. I'd love more details on the "replace the equivalent fuse" approach. Thank you.

I have had this iron for about a year, and the other day it started beeping with a long solid beep and smelled like something burning. I turned it off and now it does not heat at all. I figured the warranty is up so it is time for it to fail. Don't know where to go for iron repair, but if it is just a small fuse that needs to be replaced, surely I can find someone to do it. Thanks for the info.

My iron is getting close to a year old and I can't find my warranty info, so thought I would just buy another. If it is just a fuse, how do I find someone to repair it? Just no heat after a burning smell and audible alarm.

Mine, too. Although I've really enjoyed this iron, it just stopped heating up the other day.

The thermal cutoff device blew and must be replaced. It acts like a fuse when the iron gets too hot. Thay are very cheap and it would be well worth replacing. Hope this was helpful.

Black and decker all temp steam iron stopped working while ironing and now it won't turn on.

please see the cause and fix it:
a) tank or ports clogged. Dissasembly and inspect replace tank and seal if badly clogged. Emptying iron after each use allow heats to evaporate remaining water and helps prevent clooging. Inspect valve and linkage: clean or replace as necessary

I cant get my iron to get hot enough it gets warm but then the light will sut off and it will stop heatting up

The problem lies with the thermostatic control. Check that your control knob has not been incorrectly replaced on the thermostat shaft and that you have full turning motion on the knob, it should turn about 3/4 turn from stop to stop. The thermostatic control is adjustable, but to do this the iron must be stripped.

Iron stopped working suddenly

perhaps the thermostat is sticking.as irons are cheap to replace i would try cleaning /soaking the tank to remove lime scale. or strip the iron down checking thermostat and conections.

these along with coffeemakers have a thermal fuse for safety the fuse looks like a cilinder with one flat side and the other side pointed with a wire protruding on both sides. it is located inline with the heating element under the cover "Appliance Parts" on the internet sells the part
