Question about Black & Decker 19" Electric Lawnhog Mulching Mower with Rear Bag

Black and Decker electric mower model MM850

Mower starts but pops the circuit braker after a few seconds of operation.

    I've tried disambling the motor completely and cleaning all the dust from it. different size cords. I have even bybassed the switch. and it still trips the breal after a few seconfds of operation. i'll let you know when I figure it out.

Maybe something shorted inside mower.
you need atleast 14 gauge wire

if its rated at 13.5 amps, then you should be operating it on a 20 amp circuit. Also, you need to use a 14 gauge extension cord, otherwise the voltage drop on the extension cord causes the motor current to rise

B&D MM850 starts then stops a few seconds later, then won't start


I was having a similar problem. I tried starting it up with the switch case open. I saw a very tiny puff of smoke come out of the switch. I replaced the switch and it was fine.

can't just replace the switch with on-off.original switch has interlocking with brake, once u pull the trigger the brake circuit will open & close when triggger is release. it is also parts of safety.must common problem is inside the switch terminal eventually the contact will burnt.

the pic says the connection are not right.all left side connection are for brake which is the red & white wire. all right side connection are two black wire.
