Question about SanDisk Sansa E280 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Corrupt files When I open my files in Music, playlist, pics etc. I am seeing a ton of files that appear to be corrupt. For example, when going into my playlist I see folders that are titled by letter only and when I am clicking to view the contents of the folder they appear to be empty. I have attempted to delete and some appear to allow me to delete and pop right back up. Others say that could not be delete and equipment seems to have disconnected which is not the case. When I attempte to reformat it says that it can not reformat at this time. Just curious if you have any idea of what I should attempt next.

Hi, can anyone help me with this pls. I have a sandisk e280, a week ago, my screen said "bad track" and would freeze so I'd have to let the batterie die. When I plug it in my pc and open the music folder, there was alot of folders that were named after 1 letter and could not be opened or deleted, it says the equipment as deconnected but thats not the case. randomly, my mp3 emptied on its own or something, it says 0 songs, but they were all in my music folder when i pluged it in. I tried updating the firmware from sandisk website, but all the weird folders are still there, I've tried adding 3 songs to try my mp3, they would transfer into my music folder, but only 1 appears in my mp3?????, I've tried putting all my library on my mp3 wich is 674 songs, again only 1 would appear on my mp3 after I unpluged it??? I go see in info and they tell me I have 4023 MB left of space, but I have no songs on it!!!!!, and I would like to format it but I dont know how, they don't give me the option to do so, in the settings on the mp3. pls help me, this is frustrating, and don't know what to do anymore pls e-mail me back at sporty_2811@hotmail.com thanks

Go to the System folder and delete PP5000.DAT. This is the database. The player will then rebuild the database without the deleted files.

How to make a Playlist --- Listen to the song you want to add to a Playlist. While the song is playing, press & HOLD the [MENU] button for a couple of seconds. Another screen will appear with the following options. 1. Music Playback -- Normal / Random 2. Select EQ 3. Lyric Display -- Enable / Off 4. Add to MyList 5. Delete the File Move to #4 and press the [SELECT] button. Playlists will appear. Choose which one you want to add songs to and press the [SELECT] button. A check-mark will appear, meaning song has been added to PlayList. Press [MENU] button to get out. To DELETE songs from PlayList --- Go to options list when you first enter Music file and scroll down to 'My Music List'. Press [SELECT] button, Highlight the PlayList you want to delete songs from and press [SELECT] button. Make a new playlist?

To create an M3U playlist On your PC, create a new empty .txt document using word pad, type nothing but save the file as a .txt. go in to my computer -->> explore and find the file and rename the .txt document so it has an m3u file extension (example: my_list.m3u). Open the m3u file with wordpad, notepad, or a text editor. In the first line at top of the page type #EXTM3U. After the first line, start listing your music files, copy and paste the song names , (with extension ie .mp3). One music file name each line. Exit the text editor and save the m3u file once you are finished. Drag and drop the M3U playlist to the player's MUSIC folder, your done.

I cannot figure out how to make playlists and store them on my Sony mp3 player. I have workout music and study music and I cannot figure out how to make them so I can listen to the playlists separately.

The easiest way (though tedious when you start) I found was to just sync all my music, etc. through Window Media Player, then open the Walkman in Windows Explorer. Open the music folder and create a file for the music you want on the playlist. Copy all the songs you want the select the songs in the file, right click and create a playlist. Double-click on the playlist and put them in the order you want them. Click OK. Whan you disconnect the walkman, your playlist will be there. This is the only way I have found to actually have my playlist show up in the Playlist feature on my Walkman in the order I want the songs.

Files in Iriver H10 not appearing in music.

try this...

connect your h10 to the pc using the ums trick with the usb connection..
For 20 GB MTP Models
  • Make sure your H10 is turned off and disconnected from the computer.
  • Poke the "reset" button with a paperclip.
  • Turn on the hold switch (so that you don't accidentally turn the H10 on all the way).
  • Plug the H10 into your computer.
  • Turn on the H10 while holding the "O" button.
  • You will see the message "Emergency Connection" if you have done everything correctly. You can now let go of the "O" button.
download and run EASYh10 software (free playlist maker). It will scan the files in your music folder and build/save a playlist to your h10.
disconnect player and give it a try...

I am trying to sync my player with windows media player so I can modify my playlists. Media player says my player is full, but is not recognizing any files located on the player.

My windows media player does the same thing, I just don't use it now

Go to "My Computer"
You should see your Coby device on there

Open it up, you will see the categories where your files are (like Music, Videos, etc..)

Now just simply click and drag ;)

PS: Same with playlists, create one and save it, then find the file and click and drag into playlist folder on Coby

Coby mp705-4g playlist help needed

Hello Simone, the interesting thing about the Coby MP705 is that the company decided not to reinvent the technology that already exist, but to use the Windows technology. The best way of creating a playlist is by first connecting your MP3 player to your computer. After the computer recognizes the mp3 player double click “my computer” after that double click on the icon that shows “Coby MP705” and if “internal storage” appears also double click that icon. You should now see a series of folders double click the music folder. All your music folders will now appear. Go on any music folder and right click it. You will see an option half way down that say “create playlist” by selecting this option you create that folder as a playlist. If you want to make a playlist with a compilation of assorted music you must first create a folder with all the music you would like in that playlist then follow the instructions on how to create a playlist hope this helps.
