Question about Televison & Video
(01) Are the DVD's that are being rejected commercially produced?
(02) Are some of the DVD's that are being rejected now the same DVD's you'd been able to play (in this DVD player) prior to the onset of this issue?
(03) Are the DVDs that are being rejected are non-commercially-produced (created at home on a computer)?
(04) If the answer to (03) is YES, have you changed the media brand and/or type you are using for your "burned" DVDs? or Have you changed the software you were using to burnd the DVDs?
W/ respect to media, many older DVD players will not play DVD+R media. They will only work w/ DVD-R media.
Another prevelant problem w/ DVD players and "home-burnt" DVDs is they work well w/ some brands of media and not w/ others.
You can find Samsung's support center for you DVD player HERE and its download center HERE.
I checked the manual found HERE and did not find anything that addressed the issue you're experiencing.
There could be debris or some foreign object inside the player or dust build up on its optical lense. Getting to it could require some disassembly so, please, don't attempt this if your unit is still in warranty or if you are at all not comfortable w/ doing this.
HERE is Samsung's contact information as well.
Please, post back w/ any additional comments, questions or observations. We'll keep working w/ you on this issue until it is resolved or diagnosed.
