Hello,

All plasma an lcd tv have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times reseating the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens. The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them, but it is very easy to wreck em. Good luck.

Horizontal lines appear on photos taken by my sanyo xacti vpc s60ex camera

Hello.
The chip/one of the ribbon inside the camera has a possible scratch in it.
Firstly, try to connect it to your PC and look if there's any update available online.
get it update, if there is.
If none is available, flash the camera to a dark and light places and check if you can still see the horizontal lines.

If you can see the lines, it means it needs to be repaired.

How can I get rid of horizontal blue lines? I have lexmark 5150 ''three in one'' printer. Every time I print horizontal blue lines appear across the paper. Please help.

Hello. Your cartridge, probably, just needs cleaning. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a warm, damp paper
towel. Set one ink cartridge on
the paper towel like how it is
placed in the printer - nozzles
facing down. Drag the cartridge
lightly across the paper towel in
one direction (left to right)
until the bottom of the cartridge
looks clean. Do the same thing to
the other cartridge. Place them back in the printer. If problem persists, try to check this link to the Lexmark website. http://bit.ly/a8KP8M . It gives you another way of cleaning the cartridge nozzles. Hope these resolves the problem. Good luck!

Horizontal lines through my printed photos

Are you sure your ink is not on the verge of finishing? Try changing the colour ink and print again. Sometimes I take the cartridge out, shake the ink down just in the same flashing motion as I do my pen, then replace it. You may try that.

Screen not displaying whole letters because of horizontal and vertical lines

I've had the same problem. A temporary fix that I have found is to turn up the contrast all the way (press [2nd] then hold down the up arrow) until the screen becomes mostly black. Then turn the contrast back down (press [2nd] then hold down the down arrow) until it is at a normal level. If you can get rid of all the white lines when you turn up the contrast the screen will be back to normal. Unfortunately this does not permanently fix the problem because I cannot get rid of all the lines and it seems to be getting progressively worse each time it start up the calculator.
