8700 .... it's just because your new application somehow interact with the start up.... and consume large memory in your fone and that's why it works slow and that sandclock appears.. remove the application... if still the same ., restore factory settings and restore ur fone..

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Go back factory condition

Hello Cynthia,
There are several ways to achieve this.
Reset phone
The Reset feature allows you to set your phone options back to
the factory defaults.
  1. From Idle mode, touch Menu-> Settings -> Phone -> Reset phone.
  2. At the "All settings reset to factory defaults. Continue?" prompt, touch Yes to reset, or No to cancel. Once your phone has been reset to its default settings for those selected options, it will restart itself in order to incorporate the new settings.
Restore phone
The Restore feature allows you to delete any user information
that has been added, in addition to setting your phone options
back to the factory defaults.
  1. From Idle mode, touch Menu-> Settings -> Phone ->Restore phone.
  2. At the "All settings reset to factory defaults and all user data will be deleted. Continue?" prompt, touch Yes to reset, or No to cancel.
or
Reset code
Enter *2767*3855# in phone dial.

Warning! All your data including contacts, messages etc. will be lost! Copy all your necessary data/Contacts/Messages etc. to SIM or make backup on your PC before full reset!

CAUTION: If you have turned on encryption, the process for deleting all device data can take up to an hour to complete. You cannot stop the process after you start it. If you reset your device, the process restarts after the device restarts.

  1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
  2. Click Security Options.
  3. Click Security Wipe.
  4. Perform any of the following actions:
  • To delete data from the messages application, contacts application, and other applications, select the Emails, Contacts, Etc check box.
  • To delete all third-party applications that you have added, select the User Installed Applications check box.
  • To delete all files from your media card, select the Media Card check box.

5. Type blackberry.

6. Click Wipe.

If you restart the phone will it delete your phone

Hi. Simple restart NO, but reset YES

- reset is - back to the factory setting, using any hidden buttons and complicated "combos", removing battery for long time.
- handset will warn you if this what you want to do will affect on your contacts.

Anyway for you safety you should do backup frequently.
