Motorola Router Help

Hi have a motorola router. I want to access my web site, but every time I type in the ip address(words) I get the main page for the router.

I do know that the set up is correct for the web site, the ip address (numbers) work perfectly fine.

I'm at a loss, I don't know what to do with what and, how to solve it. I just want to see my web page at its address.

Please help....

Well the only way you will get the main page for the router, would be to type in its ip address o its specific http address. Make sure that you are typing in your web pages Http address. i.e. www.fixya.com rather than an ip address. You will need the domain address if you are hosting the website on your computer. typing in the ip will simply tell it to go to your router login page.

You may have to edit the dns settings on the web server control panel. You may have the addresses flip flopped. i.e domain name may be displaying the ip where as the ip is displaying the domain name... switch those and it may solve your problem. if not I may have to look at it first hand which we could do by giving me the ip and hostname so that I can troubleshoot it first hand.

Can't ping or access modem through dir-600l

Your cable modem is a normal home use cable modem. You do not need to configure your modem. Your ISP will send the information needed to the modem once it has been registered to their systems. With most cable ISP you should be able to connect the modem to the cable and gain access to the modem registration. NOTE: You must sign up for service first.

If you wish to access your modem page then you will have to change the WAN IP address to something like 192.168.100.25. Do not use 192.168.100.1 nor 192.168.100.255. Once done you will then be able to access your modem's web page.

Windows 7. cannot access router by typing into the web browser these numbers: 192.168.0.1 get message that webpage cannot be found. router seems to be working because i can access the web as normal. ...

Hi,

I got your issue, If you want to log into 192.168.0.1 , make sure that the computer is online wired or wireless with your router, then try to open the page using http://192.168.0.1. If still its not opening the page then follow these steps,

1. Click on start--> Go to all Programs--> Accessories--> select command prompt

2. You will get a black window, which is the command prompt and you will find a small cursor blinking there you type in "ipconfig" (without cotes) and then hit enter.

3. Check what is the IP address/ IP v4 ipaddress , which must be in the range 192.168.0.x

4. Then in the next line type "ping 192.168.0.1" (without cotes) then it will give you reply 4 times and with the ping statistics Packets send=4, Received =4, lost =0.

5. Then type in the next line "start iexplore 192.168.0.1" then you will get Dlink router setup page opened.

Good Luck!

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Prema.

All Linksys routers have a built-in web-based setup page that allows the user to customize settings and set up advanced properties.

NOTE: Before accessing the router's web-based setup page, make sure the router is powered on and the computer is wired to one of the Ethernet ports on the router (1, 2, 3 or4 ).

Belkin router

I'm guessing that your laptops are using a wireless connection. If this is the case the first time you enter the wireless security key (password) it will be stored in the laptop so you don't need to enter it again.

To connect to the router, you need to open its associated web page which you will normally find by typing the routers IP address into the address bar in Internet Explorer. The usual default address for a Belkin router is 192.168.2.1.

Once you connect to the router you should be able to access all the security settings from the Belkins main menu.

Yes I can help you... Do you know how to access the routers programming? If not open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.10.1 or 192.168.1.1 By default the username is
admin and the password is motorola. Now you see a menu says Motorola broadband wireless router... Click Networking you should find all the relevant information your looking for in there look for the tab that says Port Triggering. SlingBox requires you to forward the 5001 ports. So name the port trigger SlingBox1 make sure its enabled and set TCP incoming to 5001-5001 Another one should pop up name it Slingbox2 set to UDP ports incoming 5001-5001 and that should be it. Now click the ADD button and then click APPLY at the bottom of page.
