The refrig is Model ET8HKXM003 and Serial # E54044751 Manufactured 10/05. It is type 18TFA. The Temp is currently set on 3 (normal). The freezer appears to be leaking down into the refrig as I find water on the top shelf of the refrig every few days. Food in the freezer stays frozen and the refrig seems to be the right temp. Could smthg in the defrost mechanism be clogged? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

The drain tube on the machine has frozen in the freezer section
remove the back panel and with a hair dryer thaw the drain tube
you will see an alluminum sheild with a 1/2 inch hole in the bottom of the shield this is where you want to direct the heat
it may take 20-30- mins to unfreeze it to make sure it is unfrozen pour som water into the valley of the sheild if it runs into the drain pan it is unthawed if it pools up keep unthawing

Vegetables in crisper are frozen, as well as liquids in bottom 1/2 of fridge door. The fridge & freezer temp controls won't adjust to our settings. Also, we're getting ice, but no water will dispense.

The freezer cools the refrigerator, so you actually get very cold air passing from the freezer to the refrig. The air from the freezer enters the refrig on the top and falls to the bottom where it is drawn back into the freezer. The temperature of the refrig is regulated by a thermostat and a fan that runs when the thermostat calls for cooling. If the refrig thermostat is faulty and causes the fan to run more than it should, there will be a freezing problem in the refrig at the bottom because cold air falls and warm air rises. If the refrig is thermostat is calling for cooling constantly, this will take more cold air from the freezer than is normal. Your freezer temp might be higher than normal and the refrig will be colder then desired. If the fan from the freezer is running constantly I would suspect a bad refrig thermostat.

Kenmore 18tfa top freezer refrig model # 72852101 freezer works, no cool air going into the refrig part. Ice machine works fine too. fan is on.

Possible fan not blowing the air into the fresh food compartment or your freezer could be frosted up. Need more input.

GE PROFILE REFRIGERATOR MOTHER BOARD PROBLEMS i REPLACED THE MOTHERBOARD AND IT STILL DOSEN'T KEEP THE PROPER TEMPERATURE. It varies from 36 to 45 degrees.

Go into the diagnostic mode on your touch display .
1) . Press any button on the display 1 time except the temp adjust buttons.
2) Press the temp up and down on both the freezer AND refrig (all 4 at the same time)
3) when 0's show , release the buttons and press any button except for the temp adjust buttons .
4) NOW , fress the temp adjust buttons until the freezer side displays 0 and the refrig side displays 7 . 0 and 7 is for the thermistors test .
5) After 0 and 7 display , press any button again except temp adjust , and this will start the thermistor check .
6) You will have 7 thermistor tests , indicated on the refrig display , starting at 1 , then 2 then .......
7) The feezer display will tell for the corresponding thermistor , indicated by the refrig display , if the thermistor p = pass , s = short , b = bad (replace board)

After determining if or which thermistor is bad , then adjust the display to 1 on freezer display and 6 on the refrig display . This ends the testing procedure and resets the refrig back to normal .
