Computer turns on then shuts off.

Hi there.
Have you tried clearing CMOS? look on the motherboard for the battery, the jumper should be near that and with most motherboards should be marked with "CLR_CMOS" like this >>>>>

If you cannot find the jumper then chances are the board does not have one so to clear the cmos you have to take the motherboard battery out for an hour or so making sure you remove the power cord from the back of the machine, also take out and reseat the memory

Please post back with the results and more help if needed, good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Can not find where to put the PWR S/W on MB

look on the mother board for a group of pins, two rows, the top row will have one less pin then the bottom row. right next to the missing pin is the two pins needed for your power switch. touch a screw driver to one of those two pins one at a time and that will tell you which one is pos.

Cannot Install Windows

Well it sure sounds like an overheating problem, and 77 degrees celcius is way too high, specialy if it's right after boot! try reseatting the heatsink and make sure the repair place put a thin coat of heatsink compound paste on the processor. You need to bring that number down so really pay extra attention to the heatsink.
The next thing would be a bad memory module check out http://www.cas411.com/ShowArticle.aspx?ID=66 , it talks about surprising behaviors of PCs when a memory goes bad.

Hope this helps!

Intel 2.8G\400MHz problem

I would agree that 50% of the time you may get away with putting a working Hd with windows on it to run when changed to another board. When you change your motherboard, there are certain entries in the system registry that are looking for the components of the old motherboard. If the registry does not find these components, the system can become unstable.
The fact that you got windows to some what start is a good sign for the Hd. Try setting the CD as first boot device & have your windows XP in the drive. Do a format & install. I'm sure windows will install. Since you have three boards all the same you will only have to do this once. Foxconn warrants all Mb for life. You can always call at 580-272-0035
