DS LITE SCREEN ISSUES

I just replaced a Power Switch on my Nintendo DS Lite, And it powers on as well as charges perfectly fine now.
However once i turn the power button on the screens stay black no backlight or anything. I have unplugged the screens(top & bottom) and plugged them back in repeatedly but it doesnt seem to be working.
Is it possible that the Ribbon Cables are bad??

    Power Switches are the same.
I have already disconnected and reconnected All Screen ribbon cables.

It is Both Screens. Top and Bottom.

Is it both screens or just the one? Which one?

It's not the backlight as you should still be able to see the screen with the backlight off as it is on option to play with it off. I would beleive that the screen(s) is/are not getting power. Check the connections, you could try using a multimeter to check for power while you have the DS opened.

I'm trying to find a schematic so that I could tell you what pins to check. I'll get back to you.

From what I can tell, the smaller cable comming out of both screens with two wires is the power, check to see if there is power comming from the connector this cable plugs into.

First try disconnecting anything that you had disconnected during the repair.
Check to see if your power switch is indeed the same kind as the original.
Be sure you hooked it back up correctly.
By reconnecting everything that was undone, you may solve the problem when you repeat your steps.

If you are using a battery pack, you may have an undervoltage shutdown.

Be sure the battery is charged well and if you are using an adapter, make sure the voltage from the adapter transformer is correct.

Usually shutdowns occur because of low voltage.

My DS Lite wont charge! Help!

Try another charger, yours may be faulty. Alternatively, the battery may need replacing as it is no longer holding charge, these can be obtained very inexpensively from Ebay and you will just need a small cross head screwdriver to remove the cover on the back of the DS lite, then tap the unit in your hand to dislodge and remove the battery.

NINTENDO DS LITE WON'T CHARGE OR POWER ON

Each time you charge your battery, the charge capacity is decreased. After a large amount of charges, the capacity is decreased to an amount only enough to turn on a/the screen(s) for a second. Try getting a new battery.

Nintendo DS Lite won't come on

@JoepIt, you have a defective LCD screen. Could be upper of lower (I thing for 99% the upper).

@pietras1422, on the mainboard next to the power-switch, there is a resistor. If could be loose or is missing completely. Problem will occur when the DS Lite is dropped to the ground

Nintendo dslite wont turn on.tried charging it wit 3 different charges and it still wont charge

Ensure that you are properly recharging the battery.

1. Insert the small end of the adapter into the external extension connector (labeled "5.2V=IN") on the back of the Nintendo DS Lite, just next to the SLOT 1 Game Card opening.

2. Swing the prongs on the AC adapter until they lock into place, then insert it into a standard (120 volt) outlet.

The plug should be mounted vertically or on a floor outlet (such as a power strip).

3. Once the adapter is properly inserted, the unit will begin to charge (the orange charging light will display).

4. Once the DS Lite is fully charged, the orange charge light will go off.

Check the AC Adapter for damage (such as bent prongs or split wires). If you see damage to the AC Adapter, purchase a replacement from Nintendos Online Store.

Try plugging the AC Adapter into another wall outlet. Its possible the outlet is not working properly and has not been charging the Nintendo DS Lite.

If you are unable to get power to your Nintendo DS Lite, despite trying to properly recharge the unit, then your system will need to be repaired.

Nintendo offers convenient repairs, fast turnaround times and, for all systems repaired, a new one-year manufacturer's warranty.

Ndsl power problem

As Bob (HowlingMad) said, the Ds and Ds Lite will turn off immediately after being turned on if the connection to the top screen is broken.

Check the connections between the screen and Ds, if they look damaged then try replacing the ribbon cable for the top screen (or you may have to replace the whole screen - i'm not sure if it is built together on the Ds Lite). If the connections appear fine then it may be that due to the movement the connector has come out of it's socket/plug (also like Bob said), this is easily fixable if this is the case and would require you to take the casing off your Ds and plug it back in.

Hope this helps

Nintendo ds lite will not turn on, when trying to charge the orange lite blinks once.

after researching this for a while, i heard that it is because the fuses have blown inside the ds. you can try to fix it but it is risky.
good luck!
