BIOS 1004 cpu not support

I flashed the bios with the latest bios v1004 from the dl section of the asus site but during post the error "cpu not support comes up" and cannot flash to a lower version as the current bios prevents this.i reflashed with the same version to no avail...is it possible this bios is not intended for this motherbord  as the file name is M2NX1004.zip
cpu: amd athlon x2 6000+

I got it :-)

Damn Asus , it was a hard session ;-)

1. Make an ISO from your original Asus CD denn insert (with isobuster or something) the Bios Firmware 1004 in the main Dir name the file M2N-MX.ROM

2.Burn a Second disc with the 0804 Bios ROM also rename the 0804 Rom to M2N-MX.ROM

3. Go to EZ FLASH with ALT + F2 and then insert the 1004 CD wait till Erasing is ready Then Turn OFF your PC :-) so you crashed the bios thats what you need to run the embeded CrashFRee Tool

4 After you turn your PC on insert the 0804 CD then it flashes the this Rom and we are Happy :-)

If your board is the plain jane M2N-MX it is the correct one, however if you have the MX SE or SE Plus then the bios is incorrect and as 1004 prevents going back to a different bios version your chances of flashing back is at 50-50.

I've had this happen once to me on an asus board. They require the flash utility before the flash .bin is installed Then after the flash I had to put in the new cpu. Check the bios versions and see what processors are supported.

    Asus link
    bios 1004 supports Athlon X2 4850e
because the bios prevents downgrading I would suggest either get this processor or try to kill the bios.

you better have the bios flash utility and Bios 804 before attempting.

CPU overvoltage error"

Hi

Did n't you just post in hardware about flashing the BIOS?
Did you enter the BIOS & check the cpu voltage setting to make sure it's correct?
Actually, after the flash you probably should have used the ClearCMOS jumper to reset the BIOS,
then ran thru ALL the settings & manually adjust them for best performance.

My unit was replaced by asus mother board P5PE-vm and there is an error message, intel cpu uCode loading error. how do i get rid of this error? it is pissed seeing this error

If you don't ask Asus will not do it for you.
You can either call Asus and ask for an updated bios, (they charge about $6.00 not including shipping) or you can update the bios you're self. Everything you need to flash the bios is on their web site;
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=k3h0ZFVu9Lo1dUvk&content=download
The last three bios updates are for support new CPUs.

If your over clocking your CPU settings reset to default. See if you still get the error. If you still get the error than update your bios. There are a couple of way to do this. You can use the software on your Asus CD or you can down load the latest BIOS-Utilities, Afudos BIOS update tool V2.36. Than download the bios file, P5PE-VM BIOS 1501.

You need to flash the bios to a newer version for this cpu to be supported by your motherboard. Your descriprtion says asus so go to www.asus.com; click on the support link; lookup your specific board model #; select the operating system you are running. Download the latest bios file and follow the directions on the download site for proper flashing. Once you have flashed the bios everything should identify properly and allow you to continue setup. Hope this helps.

ASUS P5KPL-CM Bios Problem with Core2Duo 2.8 Ghz Processor.

I recommend going to this site and getting the latest Bios for the board.
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

I don't know your expertise with computers but it will require you downloading their Bios boot disk utility and creating a boot disk. then copy the Bios file to the same disk. When you boot it up it will guide you through the Bios flash process.

Be aware that you can completely kill the Bios if it has a problem during the flashing so only do it if you are positive you can get through it.

Alternately if you can push the F1 and get into the OS the Motherboard utility disk should have an updater you can use from inside windows.

File P4P800SE.ROM not found

Hi,
Sounds like you're trying to flash the bios..

Using ASUS EZ Flash to update the BIOS: The ASUS EZ Flash feature allows you to easily update the BIOS without having to go through the long process of booting from a diskette and using a DOS-based utility. The EZ Flash is built-in the BIOS firmware so it is accessible by simply pressing <Alt + F2> during the Power-On Self Tests (POST). To update the BIOS using ASUS EZ Flash: 1. Visit the ASUS website (www.asus.com) to download the latest BIOS file for your motherboard and rename the downloaded file as P4P800SE.ROM. Save the BIOS file to a floppy disk. 2. Reboot the system. 3. To launch EZ Flash, press <Alt+F2> during POST

Hope this helps

I sounds to me like u flashed the BIOS the wrong way with the wrong update. Try to go back to the old version 0609 ? and have www.drivers.com scan your cpu to find the right BIOS for you.
