Question about Hitachi 43UWX10B 43" Rear Projection Television

Hoyachi Ultravision Rear Projection TV Circa appx 1994

Trying to help a friend with his TV. It cycles on and off continuously. Reseated all boards. No visual site of burned components. No electronic burn smell. All fuses good. Popping sound. Lamps cycle on and off along with TV. Thanks in advance. Mark

    That is Hitachi, not Hoyachi.

It looks like the high voltage that goes to the CRTs is shorting to ground, probably due to a coolant leak on one of them.
I would suggest to try to locate where the arcing is taking place and disconnect the wire that feeds the high voltage to that CRT and the crackling sound will stop and the TV will power up but without one color.
Just be very careful when working around the high voltage area. I hope you take all the necessary step to ensure your safety.
Let me know if you need further assistance after locating the defective CRT.

My 61" Hitachi UltraVision has

hello my name is rico, you have bad convergence problem. you need to replace the stks inside the tv, and look for colder on the boards. you gonna need a gun solder, solder, chawick, 2 stks(look in the tv for the number loooks like stk392-120 o something like it) look for bad fuses. that should fix your problem. if you need more help let me know at 602-810-7149.

Rear projection HD Hitachi Ultravision always has greenish tint

This is what you're going to do, Turn on the Tv and go to the service manual, if the green tint is still there, you have a defective dmd board, but if it's no there, then you have an issue with your video board

Hitachi has had problems with their light engines. Very expensive. Contact Hitachi as they may give you consideration even if this is out of warranty.

I have a 50 inch hitachi ultravision that has no picture or sound but power light is on

Probably a 'cold or detatched' solder joint on a component on that perticular circuit board you are 'wedging' with a plastic rod.

Akai PT4298HD Rear Projection

Unless set has some sentimental value, junk it and get a new one. If you just want to try repairing, the boards you order may or may not have proper revisions for your model. Convergence set up can be tricky, simply not worth time or money
