Belkin usually has 192.168.2.1 for the router's address. Type this in internet explorer and go there. If you get a page not found or redirection, then open RUN and type cmd. type ipconfig and push enter. Look at the defualt gateway. That is the address you will type in address bar in internet explorer. This should bring up the router's page. There should be a wireless section. You need to find where it says security somewhere.

Hi brendflores,

Welcome to Fixya. Im not quite sure what password you're referring to if ti's the router password or the Network Password or Network Key. Listed below are the steps on how to obtain the Network Password and the Router Password.

For you to get you Security Code or Network Key you need to access your router. To access your router just open a Browser then type 192.168.2.1, password is blank. Click on the Security under Wireless. You can change the security type of your router to WPA, WEP or you can also Disable the security. Under that you can see the Security Code or Network Key. You can also Personalize the Passphrase or Network Key so that you can easily remember it.

You can also reset the router to its factory state but you need to keep in mind that all settings will be back to its default settings. To reset the router press and hold the small reset button at the back of the router using a Pen or a Paper Clip for 15-30 seconds.

If you think this is helpful rate me and don't forget to say thanks. Thanks for using Fixya.

How do I get my network security key, so that I can set up a wireless printer connection?

in the back of the router is a very small hole ,push a pen tip in or a paper clip and this will reset the router security ,then using the built in windows help programme to set a a wireless connection you can then re programme without knowing the existing codes.simple or so it sounds but its not that difficult or even a aged motor mechanic like myself wouldnt be able to do it

You net to get into router settings options (try going to http://192.168.1.1) from internet explorer. and there you need to get to boradband settings and enable security (you will be asked to choose a password- key)

My Ps3 network isnt working

You're getting a weak signal from the router. Several things can cause this problem, including interference from other devices. Make sure the PS3 is not located too far from the router.
Also, make sure you're on a secured network. I've noticed when I reset my router to the default settings (unsecure) the connection to my computer that's hooked up to the wireless network turns on and off constantly. This doesn't happen when I secure the network.

Secure internet connection

Hi,

To secure a wireless network connection, either WEP or PSK has to be enable in the LinkSys router and a passkey designated/chose. This passkey must then be likewise encoded into your HP notebook wireless networking.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Wireless router security

http://192.168.2.1 from a connected pc (use a cable you dont want to change settings over wireless and not be able to change it back) will start the router web interface, where you can read the help screens on how to, then set the router to one of several secure modes that it supports

The wizards are pretty good
