This error code popped up after a power failure and will not go away. The display says I need to power down and shut off main switch, then turn back on. When I do this, the display does not change. Any ideas?

Hello Bill Robbins - From what you are describing it sounds like a wiring failure or a communication break failure between the power board and UIB has occurred. Error code F5, typically indicates that the EOC will need replacing. A certified technician will need to test the wiring harness between the ESC, UIB and EOC.
The oven may shut off if the control board detects a problem such as a failed temperature sensor. The control will typically display an error code when this happens. Look for an error code in the display when the oven shuts off.
Another chance will be power failure or a weak breaker could be shutting off the oven. An electrician may need to check the breaker to check for proper power.
Hope this helps.

1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board). 2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).
Er-FS error code: Failure of freezer sensor. I have been finding the fuseable link in the defrost system on these models open preventing the defrost cycle. This would involve removing the freezer back panel and removing the sensor and fuse from the evaporator. It's just a plug in.
