Look at the power board " the one with the fuse" for capacitors that look puffed at the top or leaking at the bottom. If these are leaky the voltage drop will cause the current to rise and pop the fuse. After a time the caps will get bad enough that the set will stop working and may cause more problems.

I got a bush 24inch led smart tv few days ago and it was fine now the red standby light isnt on at all or wont come on at all how do I fix it or get it to work again

Hi Alex, Red stand by light is not coming on means the power has gone dead. Check the fuse if you can. Replace it with the same rating one. If the set starts working, enjoy watching and if the fuse blows again, consult the TV Tech. Good Luck.
But why all this trouble? Your TV must be in service guarentee. Call the company guys to fix it.

Seiki LCD TV no activity at all when power button pressed. Would replacing the main board fix this? Can that be done by an average person without soldering?

Hi Steve,
Before changing the main board for a dead TV there are quite a few things to be checked. First of all the main cord, then the fuse on the power board and then the power board. In your case please check the fuse on the power board and replace it with the same rating. If the TV starts working, enjoy watching and if the fuse blows again, consult some TV Tech.

My bauhn tv isn't turning on at all. I was watching a show and it just turned off and now the standby light isn't turning on.

Hi Anonymous,
The power supply in your tv has gone dead. If you can, open the back cover, check the fuse, replace it if it is blown. If the set works well and good and if the fuse blows again, consult some local TV Tech.
Good luck.

Blown main ac fuse

a FEW ways this happens.

If fuse blows instantly when set plugged into power either a generic fuse (lots of these fuses are special and a generic will pop for no reason) or a dead short on the primary side of the power supply.

If fuse blows instantly when turned on a short either in secondary side of power supply or something it feeds.

First to try is get the exact fuse used (buy a pair) and see what happens.

beyond that if secondary side (when set is turned on) have an expert look at the set.

Black screen no video no audio suddenly now

This set is a 50" plasma. first check the AC power fuse on the filter board then: if it is bad: check the power supply by marking and, removing all the cables; (so you can put them back in the correct spot) except the filter board to power supply cable; that connects to the Power supply board. Then: replace the blown AC fuse and, re-power: If the power supply blows the fuse: again, the power supply is bad and, must be replaced or, repaired. If the fuse does not blow: turn off the set then: on again, reconnecting and, disconnecting each board cable in turn, untill the fuse blows again this cable leads to the bad board; replace or, repair the board that blows the AC fuse every time the bad board is connected, irregardless of which other cable to the power supply may be connected also; or, not.

My sharp LC-20AV4U tv did not turn on when i plugged it in

The fuse is blowning because most likely when you plugged it it, it took a power surge. And the power surge blow a proection diode. As long as you opened it up... in the power section you will see a bunch of diodes. Get a multi meter and check these diodes out. Besides the diodes... you will see a transformer.... if you are looking at the unit with the fuse to the left... then look to the right of the transformer... you will see a transistor on a metal heat sink... that could have blown also.. if that did... then you should also check the diodes just on the other side of the heatsink too.

Good luck

replace the terminal pcb part # DUNTKB128DE03 you may be having a short in the secondary power supply. you can get the manual here to help you better trace the short. it can also be the main board too better to chase the problem than to make guesses.

Fuse Blowing

A blown fuse is usually caused by a shorted regulator or a bridge rectifier circuit. Either way it is a problem in the primary power supply. A bad cord won't blow the fuse in the set, it will blow a circuit breaker in the house. A servicer usually would normally cover the inside of the set with a "few light slits in the AC cord". Hope this helps
