I have the exact same problem. I plug it in, the light goes on but nothing showes in the display. No brewing....nothing. I can't find a replacement part and I love this coffee pot. It looks so classy on the counter. It worked great and then. POOF.........done.

    Now what?

I called the company and they said to contact JC PENNEYs, well I have no reciept or box......I guess I'm out a coffee pot!

I bought the coffee/espresso maker. The espresso side still works, but the coffee side does nothing. I only had used it for about a week, but that was long enough for me to throw the box. I was going to contact the company but I see that will do no good, so my suggestion is to buy a new one (same exact model) then put the broken one in the box and return it. You will have a new coffee pot, and you won't be out anymore money.

Not sure of my model cooks as it did not come with a box. I did find it wanted to heat the water but would not come up through the straw and out the holes and into the coffee pot. Instead it heated the wter right out of the coffee maker and onto the counter. I decided towatch it and thestraw mechanism was at fault. I took it out and ran water up the straw from the sink and found it coming out the end of the black piece insteadof through the holes like it is supposed to. I tapped it on the counter and a small bead like piece came outthatwas to seat properly at the end of the tube where you slide the straw into the hole dripper. I sealed the hole and wahla I got a great coffee maker that the water comes out the brewing holes. look to see what yours is doing while heating. Is it making a bunch of loud popping noise and water heating but not going into the pot. Give this a try if you cant return your pot..... Now for glass carafs. Go directly to the maker of cooks. Not JC Pennys. They are just the outlet that sells them. Google it on line. I havent fdone that yet. Get them to give you and order form on line and a way to secure your payment for your caraf replacement. Check it at the door when it arrives and dont let UPSor whoever dropped it off to leave till tyou have looked at it to make sure it has no cracks or broken pieces.

Barely any coffee rises to upper chamber after cooking

It's the gasket!!!!! Store the pot with the two parts screwed TIGHTLY together for about a week. Tighten it up as the new gasket compresses. Problem solved in two weeks or less. Also cook on medium to low heat. High flame seems to make the problem worse.

Coffe residue inside coffee pot

Add some automatic dishwasher detergent ( maybe 1/4 cup) and fill the rest of the pot up with very hot water. Swirl to combine. Let stand for a few hours. Use a bottle brush to scrub the pot. Or get some denture cleaner tablets and throw them into the pot with hot water. Let stand a few hours or overnight, then scrub with bottle brush. I've tried both methods on my coffee pot and both work great for me.

I just had this same problem and after reading this blog I went downstairs, tightened the pot down more and it worked! I usually don't tighten it this much, but will continue to tighten it down hard until the gasket is broken in. Thank you sooooooo much!!!

Warming plate boils coffee.

Make sure you are using the type of commercial coffee pot like the one in the picture. They don't have to have to be plastic with the metal bottom, they can be all glass. The commercial pots are heavy duty and usually disperse the heat well.

If you are using commercial pots the only solution without replacing the warmers is to put three pennies on the warmer and to put the pot on top of them. The pennies will get hot so don't forget and grab them but the pennies help to move the pot just a little way away from the direct heat.
