SINCE MOST CONTROLS WILL ONLY CHANGE THE TEMPS ABOUT 5 DEGREES +/-, IT DOESN'T PAY TO CHANGE THE CONTROLS AT ALL. IF YOU WANT TO, SET THE CONTROL THAT TURNS OFF THE UNIT TO THE WARMEST SETTING BEFORE OFF. BE SURE IT IS RESET TO 38 DEGREES WHEN YOU GET BACK.

My dd lg refrigerator model GGL-478YSX4/2011 BEEPS EVEN WHEN DOORS PROPERLY CLOSED

Its telling u that the refrigerator setting should be lowered or raised. I keep the freezer setting on the highlighted setting and depending on the weather your refrigerator will beep when the setting is either to high or to low. If its hot and humid outside it probably raise one notch and if the outside temp has cooled then lower one notch. Just have to experiment. Good luck

Hi I have pressed the vacation button on my side by side refrigerator/freezer as we are going away for 8 weeks. The display has lit up but there is no difference in the way the fridge is operating - same...

The settings will reset to a lower settting as the fridge/freezer will not be disturbed . So wait for the fridge to run and shut down and it will continue to run in this low mode to save power but to keep the food in prime condition. The fridge alone will not be shut down.

Icemaker stuck in 'vacation mode'

Feel inside the ice slots are there any old cubes that have evaporated in time? Take the ice maker out and clean it up and place it back inside to see if it will fill with fresh water. Take a hair dryer and melt the old ice inside the slots and see if it will try to fill. I will wait for a response from you.
