My sister wanted to change our Toshiba TV to her favorite cartoon, Tom and Jerry. But after she entered the channel number, the TV went black and white. I've tried to get the TV working again but then I...

use the remote to punch in Channel 4. Or use the menu to do a channel scan. unless you were on a video input. If that is possible, try pressing hte input button until you see a picture.

Also, Tom and Jerry is the best cartoon ever. Tell your sister she is awesome for me.

I just need a diagram to show me how to hook the dvd/vcr up to my television. I have Dishnetwork as well. I un-hooked and now I can't get a picture.

Not knowing the model of the TV its hard to tell you how to hook it up. Howeever let's assume that yu TV has an auido in and a composite video input. it it does is should have three RCA jacks on the back...one red, one white and one yellow.

Assuming Dishnetwork is being used as a analog video.

Connect the VCR/DVD player via a patch cable ( usually has three cable all color coded, red, white & yellow) Red and White section is used for the audio Left and Right. The yellow cable is video.

Connect the audio out of the VCR/DVD player to the audio input on the TV. Do the same with the videoout of the VCR/DVD to the TV may be marked "Composite Video". Now connect your Dish Network receiver RF Out to the TV. This should be a coaxal cable.

Now when you want VRC/DVD use your remote and select input. Some older TV's have the aux input just before Ch 2. Some remotes have an input button.

once you have aux inpsut selected turn on the dvd and play your movie to view Dish go to Ch 3 or 4 depending on how your TV and system is set up.

Again not knowing the model TV you have, this is a general hook up.

I have a proscan CTC169CG5 CRT tv that has two composite inputs but have no idea how to switch them

Tune to 90 for S-video, 91 for input 1 and 92 for input 2.

90 and 91 uses audio 1 for input
92 uses audio 2 for input.

you may have to enable them in the setup menu.

Recording multiple tracks at the same time.

Yes you certainly can record the 8 inputs onto 8 tracks simultaneously. You will need to make sure you are assigning each input to each track individually by first pressing the input button for an input and then pressing the select button for a track. Do this for each input/track and then make sure all of the 8 tracks you want to record to are armed for recording (the red rec buttons above each should be lit) before pressing record and play together.

You might want to insure that no tracks are linked (you can see this by pressing an input and observing which tracks have their 'select' button flashing). If 2 adjacent ones are flashing for the same input simply unassign one of them by pressing the 'select' button above that track. Then you'll be free to assign the next input to that track as above.

Best of luck.
