The reprint automatically stores as you type. I dont believe it can be turned off, however if you use the SAPI feature it clears and starts over. SAPI Semi Automatic Paper Insertion. When inserting paper pull the rt. upper bail arm all the way forward it will indert paper to preset position and clear reprint memory.

How do you turn the printing sound off as you type?

If you are talking about a beep on each key depression CODE "S" if you are talking about the printing noise you must have the display option, if this isn't a WW6 but a WW30 ets there is a key in the right thst says print mode.

I believe that you don't want a stop there just close the memory location and recall it for each use.
Go to NADIST.COM For a manual.

No, the printwheels are the same for all Wheelwriters. Make sure the letters face the roller when you put it in (pull the print hammer assy back and check for paper clips, ribbon pieces, etc. first).

I have an IBM Wheelwriter Typewriter Model 674X and it keeps beeping at me when I type. Why is it beeping and/or how do you make it stop?

the beeping is the spellcheck option.. you just have to quit spelling wrong! Just Kidding. The dictionary is limited. You can turn it off by holding the 'code' key while pressing the key that says 'spell' on the top row.

Check to see that the printwheel is properly installed, then check for debris in the P/W area.

Striker Not Working. New Problem, now.

One very important thing with Brothers typewriter, If the keyboard is not locked in place under the catches, it will not complete the home cycle. In other words when the carriage returns to the left it will cycle and then beep usually continually. The reason the carriage stop time switch is attaced to the keyboard not the side frame. You might look at that....Could be other problems too. keep in touch

Beeping

It most likely beeping because it cannot make its resetting movement. That is,it cannot "find-out" where its left margin is. There may be something hindering the actual movement of the print carrier. Check inside the typewriter by lifting up the top cover and move the print unit by hand. It should be able to move from the left to right-hand side of the typewriter unhindered. The shaft that the print unit moves on should be clean and it may have gathered dust etc,so give it a wipe with a clean cloth (lint free) with a small drop of light oil on it.. Replace the top cover and switch on the machine
