I have the same problem, I've just ordered a new power supply that will be dual voltage, you can find them on amazon.com or similar. I'll see if it works just by switching out the power supply. We had the same thing happen to another appliance and it was only the power supply that needed to be changed out. Here's hoping.

Well your warranty won't cover it thats for sure. So with that bit of knowledge, locate your nearest console/modchip shop. They also do console repairs etc and should be able to repair or replace the power supply as long as the internals are ok apart from that.

you could try replacing the power supply. if it still does not work, you probably fried the processor or motherboard. (or both). just make sure the replacement power supply has the same type of connectors on the power leads to the motherboard, hard drive, etc.

My nexxtech multination travel adapter specifically says on the label that it will convert 240/220 V to 120/110 V, but when i plug it into a 220 V wall outlet its output is still 220 V. (I know this since...

It seems your adapter is not a converter for Voltage, but just a plug-converter so it will fit all type of sockets. There's a varistor for safety-protection, but that's all there is. At least, that's what I make up, based upon your description and the manual. See http://downloads.thesource.ca/273/2731445/manuals/manual.pdf

If the converter also should have converted 220/240 V AC into 110 V AC, than the electronics inside is damaged. Actually I think it's just a plug-converter, because there are many devices operating with an internal switched powersupply. The advantage of such technique is it can operate at various AC-voltages, whil only an adapter for the correct plug is needed.

I plugged 110 volts xbox 360 into 220 volts outlet. and it's dead. what will i do?

Unless the item has internal fuse, it is burned up.
Look for product manual.
Many times, there is a glass fuse rated for unit voltage.
Replace fuse.
Each fuse has specific markings.

No, You'll burn up the appliance. When I was in Germany there were commercially available transformers to step the current down. The transformers plug into the 220 sockets and provide several 110 sockets to plug your appliance into. We purchased several transformers and ran our 110 tvs, kitchen appliances and other 110 appliances. The 220 sockets in Germany were different than 110 and 110 plugs sould not fit.

I am trying to figure out if I can plug my new router into this 220Volt plug or do I have to plug it up to the transformer I was given since I live in south korea

Hi,

Please see on the adapter of the router if the range of voltage is from 110 to 220. If it is then it is called auto-volt. The adapter can adapt whether 220 or 110. You can directly connect it to any socket.

If it is not auto-volt then you must use a step down transformer to use it.

Thanks.

My drier 110 volts was accidentally plugged to 220

The least of your problems would be a burnt out relay or internal switch which can be replaced at reasonable expense. In a worst case the motor or heating element "fried" and it'll be cheaper to buy a new dryer.
BTW 110 and 220 plugs are entirely different and a 110 plug cannot be plugged into a 220 outlet.

Wii power source probably broken

Plug something else into the adapter to make sure it works, if it works you may have blown the Wii's fuse which will need repair.
