How to attach a thermostst to a whirlpool model number ACE184XPO

Hello Charles;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration and air conditioning technician.

I am in the dishwasher section of this website answering question.

Your question based on unit part number is a window air conditioner/ heater. So be it.

You have a old unit. I have made many service calls on these units. I know it is a old unit because the main control board is no longer available.

Is the problem the thermostat? How do you know? Have you used a multi-meter to Ohm it out. The thermal stat is part number 1185753. It cost $97.00.

If it is the heater. The heater part number is 1182568. The heater cost $137.00.

The rule of thumb is: " If the cost of repair is 1/3 or greater of a new unit, buy a new unit". "If the age of the unit includes parts not being available (Control board) buy a new unit".

You can go into the following web site, put in your model number and see the diagrams of your unit.

My professional advice, Buy a new unit.

Whirlpool washer age

Your washer was manufactured in March of 1993. The manufacture date is determined by the Serial Number. The second letter "C" represents the YEAR of manufacture. The first two numbers "14" represent the WEEK it was manufactured. The 14th week puts the manufacturing in late March. I hope this helps you.

Gas dryer tripping breaker when plugged in.

I have the same exact problem. Dryer works great....when empty. Put wet clothes in and 3 or 4 hours later they are as wet as when I started. I am going to kick the piece of junk to the curb and go get a GE dryer right now.....I suggest you do the same.

Looking for refrigerator use and care guide for mod.ed2vhextbo1 ser.hrt4930458 and info about changing filter and type of filter

i do not think that is a good model serial number. at least not the format that whirlpool has used in several years or in the u.s.a.

the model serial numbers should be on a tag easily located with out moving unit.

unless this is a vendared product with a Whirlpool name on it (usually a dorm frig or the like)
