Go to "Tools", "Folder Options". Then click on the tab called "View", and under "Hidden Files and Folders", click "Show Hidden Files and Folders". I honestly do not know how to do this on a mac. I'm simply stupid.

you have no choice but to replace the ipsw(firmware) file on the iPhone. 1. download selected firmware from here http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ 2. go to iTunes and dock you iphone to the computer. 3. Holding "shift" key click on iPhone restore. it will open up a new window in which u will have to select "the .ipsw file u downloaded" 4. select it and click restore. 5. wait for everything to be done.
