Red light on doesn't read any game

With best respect ! bside green light red light is on in my xbox 360 doesn't read any game disc
how can I fix that ?

Is this is an Xbox 360 (you never specified the console, but red and green are typically Xbox light colors), then the red lights mean that something is wrong with your console and it is unable to function. The best option at this time is to take it somewhere to be repaired, or to replace the console.

Whenever I play a game on my xbox, when it starts it doesn't recognize (the xbox 360) that it is a game, instead it reads that its a DVD, a movie, but its not its a video game, so please help me...

This is similar to a problem I have, the best thing to do is to keep openening and closing the disc tray untilll it reads. Otherwise, clean the disc

First it can't read disc and asks to clean it, its been freezing up in the middle of a game and there is half green circle on the power button

If your Xbox 360 will not play your games this is because of the sensors on the back of the drive overheating it is not normally the laser.

Luckily you can fix this yourself and get back to your games and to do this you need the proven Xbox 360 Repair guide.

Or you can send it in and they will fix it for you the repair will take about 4 weeks.

Freeze ups happen just before it goes to the red lights.

Disc Reader not reading disc

You can try to Clean with dvd cleaning kits...if doesn´t work..the only way fix is to disassemble the 360 and force the dvd laser adjusting the micro pot...located under the laser unit..But you will loose warranty and I think that the best way is to send your game console to microsoft...what hurts is that $140,00 you can buy 02 or even 03 xbox drives on ebay. Choose the best way! Good Luck!

Green light doesn,t come on on front stays red

first solution was right in most respects but it matter how many of the lighta on the power button are on 1 or 2 lights may be fixable by making sure all of your components are firmly attached if there are three or four lights it is a critical hardware failure most likely caused by over heating . if you are still under warranty (red ring of death warranty is 3 years) then you can send it to microsoft and they will fix it . if you are not under warranty they will charge around $180

Unreadable disc

Microsoft Xbox have some common problem like red lights, E74 and Disc Read Error. Microsoft is providing extended warranty for red lights problem, Means you will have to spend some money in order to get this problem repaired from Microsoft also you will have to wait for 3-4 weeks to get your Xbox back. There are many reasons disc read error can occur in your Xbox like your disc might not be clean, laser might also be dirty and many more common problem. I would suggest you to first clean out the disc, you are using. If that don't solve the problem you can also take the help of DIY guide available at Internet. I think you have got good no. of options to get your Xbox repaired, Choice is yours.

Xbox 360

Hey Jay- There is a plastic disc that sits on the centre of the drive inside the box, this disc has a magnet in it that is supposed to hold the game cd in place. What's happened is the plastic has become dislodged from the computer drive and is not the magnet portion is stuck to the drive housing (also metal).

You need to open up the game console, remove the drive and the drive cover and get that plastic disc out of it's holding plate. Once out, you just reinsert the drive (without the cover) and set the disc on top of the game cd-give the game a spin or two with your fingers and it should start up....problem fixed

If you search on Youtube you can see a repair video for this. It takes time, and you have to tear apart the game to get at this puppy. I've since fixed mine and left the plastic game housing off as well, so as to get rid of the overheating problem.

Screw microsoft and their crappy manufacturers.

3 red lights on my xbox 360 please help

While this may be an indicator that something is wrong with your Xbox 360, there are a couple of things that you may want to consider before seeking additional assistance.

According to information provided by the manufacturer, the light on your Xbox 360's power supply should still light up green even when the console has encountered a three red light problem. If the light on the power supply isn't green, you will want to take different actions based on what color is displayed. If this light is red, the AC adaptor may either be defective or has recently overheated. If the light is orange, you may need to double-check all cable connections are secure. If the light on the AC adaptor isn't lit, the AC adaptor may need to be replaced.

Alternatively, you may want to try turning the Xbox 360 off, then pressing the power button again roughly 10-15 seconds later. If the unit powers on normally and the three red lights disappear, the system may simply have needed to be reset.

Should the problem persist however, you may need to speak directly with Microsoft for further assistance, as three red lights often indicate a hardware failure that requires repairs.
