While watching the tv a box will appear on the top right hand corner of the screen which says audio/mono. This box appears about every 30 seconds, when it does there is a quick interruption in the sound, kind of like a screeching noise. When the box disappears so does the sound. Any suggestions?? We called customer service and they said we need to change the cable connection. Any thoughts?

Re: SHARP Aquos LCD-37in
Switch from 75 ohm coax to the rca jacks (red and white) even better would be coaxial digital sound (orange rca jack)or optical for the best raw 5.1 channel sound there should also be a way to use the menu to turn off notifications like that

Commercials are broadcast in lower quality than the programs, and it is normal for the signal to change when going to commercials. If you are watching ATSC you will notice also the video changes from HD (widescreen) to SD (normal) as well.
Not sure if I just got lucky or if the problem is solved..I hooked up my Sharp Aquos LC-32D64U the other night and I had the blue audio box pop up. Mine was only in Mono and would not switch to Stereo...Well, Local cable company is of of Hi-Def boxes but I thought what if my Digital box is bad/old or has some sort of problem. I went down to comcast cable company switched to a different digitial box..came home, hooked it up and so far no blue audio box, plus now it shows that it's in stereo..good luck
There is no factory option to stop the box from poping up every time
the signal changes, which is what is happening. It has something
to do with signal strength or the fact that your cable box is not set
up for HD. Call your cable company to get a tech out to check
your signal and set up your cable box because they do not come pre-set
with HD defaults.
You should be watching your dvd's on an input and not on tv analog 3. Every time the tv "senses" a signal change in the audio that screen will pop up. Connect the DVD player to the tv by using either the red, white and yellow (composite) connections or using the green, blue, red, white and red (component). Once you are on an actual input that box will stop popping up.
