Craftsman 25cc Gas Line Trimmer dies when giving throttle. It starts up and runs in the "Start" setting, then dies as soon as you give it gas. I replaced the carburetor...it ran great immediately after installing. Two weeks later (which equals only two days of yard work), it is doing the same thing as before. What else could it be?

Sounds like the carb is getting clogged. Drain the old fuel and make sure the fuel filter is attached to the fuel hose inside the fuel tank. SeaFoam or a product called Start will sometimes clean the carburetor. If not, you will need to have the carb rebuilt, flushed or replaced.
Also, check your muffler and spark arrest, sometimes if they are clogged, you will have a similar issue.

SOURCE: Trimmer starts immediately, then stops

How old is the trimmer? If still under warranty, Sears can fix this. If not, then my experience has been the problem is a bad coil. This is due to heat build up. When the coil gets hot, it shorts out.

Why does my craftsman 2-cycle model 316.791860. Gas trimmer die?

Those little carbs clog very easily and what you experience is a common symptom. Go to any bog box home store and in the mower area pick up a can of small engine carb cleaner.
Remove the carb, take it apart as far as you comfortably can and soak all pieces in a can/jar of CLEAN gasoline for 10 -15 mins. Agitate to get the gas moving.
Remove the carb, and drip clean then use the carb cleaner to blow out every port you can see. reassemble and install the carb, it should work fine.
Before storing for the winter drain all gas from the tank and start it allowing the machine to run till it stalls out due to no gas. You should be fine for next season that way.

My 7-year old 25cc Craftsman line trimmer began surging during use, would bog down when given throttle, then would completely die, became hard-starting, and now doesn't start and run at all. Acts like...

A new fuel filter with new fuel lines and a rebuild kit for the carburetor should do it. You may even be able to get away with just the gasket and diaphragm kit for the carburetor. It is cheaper than the complete rebuild kit if you choose. Run synthetic oil and these things will last a good long while.

Craftsman 25cc weedwacker (358.791030). Zama carburator (C1U-W19) Just rebuilt carb but did not adjust low speed/high speed screws. Starts on first pull (with choke lever actuated), and after warm up,...

need to adjust the high sscrew. i do mine in 1/4 turns. start machine, full throttle, adjust the h(high) til it clears up.i would start by turning 1/4 counterclock wise, just remember to keep track, in case it runs worse, the put it back to orig. then try the other way. but i suggest 1/4 turn at a time

example... think of a clock when turning screw. straight up and down, 12oc, 1/4 turn will be 3oc, another 1/4 will be 6oc, and so on. hope it helps!

I had a similar problem and it was simple to fix. I hope yours is the same. The line going into the gas tank is not far enough down in the tank.Once you prime it with the primer bulb , it will run till that gas is gone. No fuel from the tank is getting to the carburetor. If you've replaced the fuel lines recently, this may be your problem. If not, try cleaning the fuel tank and the carburetor. Hope this helps.

My 32cc starts right up but as soon as i give it gas it stops...help

The low side carburetor adjustment screw needs to be turned counter-clockwise. Start by turning it 1/4 turn then test run. If your carb has plastic locks on the screws, they will have to be removed first. Most modern carbs require a special tool to adjust the jets. The tool can usually be purchased from your local repair shop.

You're on the right track, but it sounds like you have a carburetor issue...might be time for a rebuild kit or just a cleaning. This doesn't always fix every carb however...You can first try cleaning your carb....very sensitive parts inside....use only brake parts cleaner or WD-40 or the like...even most carb sprays are too harsh. There are lots of diagrams and helpful hints on carb web sites...just don't "soak" the carb in cleaner if it's dirty. Older machines accumulate carbon in their muffler and engine and periodically need to be cleaned. It's not that hard to do and it will help you learn how your machine works also.

I have a Craftsman 32cc weed trimmer, can't give gas, it stalls

Usually the diaphram is wore out. It is a relatively inexpensive part. Does it run better with a little choke? If the answer is yes chances are it's the diaphram. Also sometimes the adjustment screws can move. There are two, one for low speed, and one for high. With the engine warmed up make small movements on the screws (some are marked low, and high) in, and out adjust til the engine runs at its optimum.
Hope this helps!

32 cc craftsman trimmer starts but will not run at full rpm

Air fuel mixture problem,,,you need to have the filter pulled out and cleaned. Check fuel system for debris and clean, that includes all the fuel lines and possibly disassemble carb and clean and reassemble.
