If you have a modern PC or laptop you shoud have USB slots in the side of the case somewhere. The Cruzer flash drive plug slides out of the casing - just push down on the light-coloured area and slide it out - and this then plugs into the USB slot (which is about half and inch long and a quarter of an inch wide with an offset bar so make sure you have the Cruzer the right way up). The PC or laptop should 'recognise' it automatically.
A SanDisk Cruzer Mini is a memory stick, like a modern floppy disk. Plug it into a USB port (a thin rectangular hole) - it may be at the back of your computer. Your computer should then recognise it and you can copy files onto it.
We can fix it -- and recover the data (provided it is recoverable -- which it generally is). If we don't get your data back, we ship the drive back to you and you pay nothing. We've been recovering data for over 16 years and are successful about 85% of the time.
Is the account that your tying to access the drive with an Administrator account? If not, Log in as Administrator and try to access the new drive. If you ARE using Administrator privileges on the vista machine, the problem lies in the U3 smart driver. Try downloading and installing the drivers for the XP SP2 os on scan disks website, If vista rejects the install package off of the scan disk website, let me know and i'll extract the drivers and build an install for them for you.
This could be two problems.
1. Using another USB device[anything] establish the USB port on the computer[s] are functioning or not.
If not check the BIOS- Restart computer[s] press delete whilst booting -to get the bios screen up - cycle through to USB devices make sure they are ticked to enable.
