I saved a game last nite after playing grand theft auto. When I turned my ps2 on this morning my memory card wouldn't read... it says no data! What happened?

YOU PROBABLY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY ON YOUR PS1 CARD AND THE PS2 DOES'T KNOW HOW TO TELL YOU THIS BECAUSE IT WAS ONLY PROGRAMED TO SAY NOT ENOUGH MEMORY WITH A PS2 MEMORY CARD. TO PLAY OFF YOU SAVED DATA TRY TRANSFERRING YOUR MEMORY TO A COMOUTER THEN TO A PS2 MEMORY CARD... BEST OF LUCK
try reconfigure memory card save block (not the game save) I play 5 game profiles & cards used with Grand Turismo 3&4 (2 cards auto-start & 3 cards don't! = 4 sony & 1 mad cats)
CLEAN YOUR LENS! My SCPH-30001 PS2 IS 10years Old & I clean Both sides of my Lens VERY CAREFULLY ! every 2yrs. & it still works great!
you cannot save another file until you delete previous one.Corruption occurs if the memory card is removed from console or if you reset the game while saving or loading game remember this also happens when you are saving or loading game and electricity turns off.
I don't know if you have been trying to delete the data with a game inside the ps2, but in case you have, try this.
Turn on the system WITHOUT a game inside, select BROWSER,
the MEMORY CARD ICON, and i believe the corrupted data icon is a
grayish black square. Choose options and then delete. I am also heard that inserting a music cd will work as well, probably just has to not be a game inside the ps2.
Corrupted data comes from turning off the ps2, or
removing the memory card while the game loads or saves data to/from
memory card. I really hope that helps, ps2's are meant to be played! Good luck.
ok, u must have a PS1 memory card in order to save PS1 games. the common PS2 memory card will not save old style game data. for a good place to get a PS1 memory card, a local Gamestop store, or Ebay. good luck man.
uhmm.....now that is a stumper..., ill ask u this: does the PS1 memory card have any space let on it? (is it full)...if not...well then, im at a loss =/
PS2's don't read PS1 memory cards outside of the browser screen. It can only be used as access memory. Hope this helped. As for the slots it might be only fixable by a mechanic.
Your question is somewhat confusing, using a playstation 2 memory card, will have PS2 game saves on it, how would you play PS2 games on a PS1 from the save, you can't.
If you just mean you are using a PS2 card for a PS1, the way a PS2 card saves data is different to a PS1 card, so it probably won't work
You can use your PS1 memory cards in the PS2. You can only use the PS1 memory cards to save PS1 games that you are playing in your PS2. You can't save any PS2 game data to a PS1 memory card
