Copying a video file onto a DVD does not make it viewable on a DVD player. You will need software capable of mastering a DVD.

Do you really want to download your pictures this way? The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. You can also use software such as Nikon Transfer and Nikon ViewNX to transfer and organize your pictures. How do i transfer my movies from my nikon coolpix to a cd or dvd

Open up an Explorer window (Windows-key + E) and explore the CD. There may be a separate video folder. It's possible the store failed to transfer videos.

You shouldn't need additional software; Windows Media Player should be able to play the videos. The current version of Nikon ViewNX certainly can. If you don't already have Nikon ViewNX, you can download it from http://support.nikontech.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61

How do I download pictures onto PC for emailing? Thanks so much.

The best way to download is to remove the memory card from the camera and plug it into a card reader, either built-in to your computer or connected via USB or FireWire.

The other method is to connect the camera to the computer using the supplied USB cable. This will probably be slower, and will definitely run down the camera's batteries.

It records movies in Quicktime format (.mov). Do not try to run the movie in picture project. Download the movie file onto your harddrive and run it under Quicktime.

Coolpix 4300 needs driver & update for vista

You can download PictureProject software from this address: http://chsv-soft.nikon-image.com/jpn/software/win/S-P2____-175WU-JPNJP.exe

That is the only Nikon software that supports Vista since your camera is "outdated".

Here is a quote from Nikon site:

  • We had released a Windows Vista-compatible version of PictureProject, v1.7.5, for use with the models listed below, and all models that followed. PTP (models supporting the PTP protocol) and Mass storage USB transfer options can be used for camera connection. However, the camera's transfer button can not be used to transfer pictures over a PTP connection. Set the USB transfer option to Mass storage to enable the camera's transfer button.
Currently, the new Nikon Transfer and View NX will replace Picture Project as our new Image Transfer and Browser applications. These applications support the same Nikon products as Picture Project.

NIK0N coolpix l3 movie transfer

The movie should be transferred automatically when you transfer the images from the sd card. There should be a folder where the pics are transferred, usually through a program called Picture Project. Look for an icon with the Quicktime logo on it or a movie logo. That should be it.
